Only if we can find someone who'll take the response seriously! I will happily argue the counterpoint to your wrongness

Considering getting some 25mm badges too. Micro badges for Micromasters! Would that be fun or would that get a fatwa declared on me from Pinwig? So long as we get the magnifying glasses!!! -Ralph

So long as we get the magnifying glasses!!! -Ralph I'm on it!!! The main question is do we sellotape it to the cover??

I would say yes for the homage to TFUK though would not die on a hill for it.

Only if it's the kind of sellotape that comes off without a mark. If you make me get the WD40 out for THE convention zine, I'm spraying you with it too.
On the subject of the badges, reading that did make my jaw drop, but ten months forewarning might be enough time for me to manage coping with the change!
No, seriously. It might be enough. Just.

Nothing stopping doing a mixture. I just like the idea of mini Micromaster badges. The catch is that the badge die and cutter is very expensive for each size.

We could have a whip round. Hub sponsored hub badge? Your badge empire cannot be limited by mere money! We must go multi-size! I've already ordered a new wing for my Blueshift Badge Museum.

Ah, I don't like asking for money for my little projects. I spent many years not doing stuff because of cost; I promised myself a while back that as long as it wasn't bank breaking I should just *go for it* and try things out, otherwise I'll never get anywhere!

I get that, but if a new cutter is going to be top dollar then I'm also aware you've been good enough to supply me with a heck of a lot of free badges over the last few years. I'm fine with investing in Blueshift's Badges Ltd.

Maybe I'll set up a ko-fi account or something (where people can buy you a 'virtual cup of coffee' to help with costs, that seems to be the in-thing at the moment.
I can absorb a lot of costs but this year was a bit of a stretch, and it does rely on being employed still (another big reorganisation at work!)
The thing is, if you start charging for stuff, it immediately cuts down the amount of people who are interested by 9/10s and to be honest I'd rather this be a fun community thing and push stuff out there than making about £30
There's other avenues I want to look at if we're doing the TMUK stall at TFN again though (and some projects with Andy underway!) It's just finding the time to do it all!! Aaa.

Hmm cannot seem to repeat my exciting badge procedure!! (the ink is breaking up on the paper i'm using despite it working fine on the first sheet. I wonder if the first sheet was different, or slightly rougher from being at the front of the pack?)

Just spotted this. Happy to put something together if you still need stuff. And because i'm pretty much a one trick pony it'd be a comic cover recreation
These are the micromaster ones: US 55 56
UK 223 232 250

Thanks Kevin. I need to see where we are in terms of content at the moment. Quite a few people are wanting to do additional colour pieces which wouldn't work in the current setup (where I'm printing and assembling the insides by hand) though 1) I don't actually know what we'll be realistically getting and 2) when I have an idea of the final pagecount I can look at budgeting for full colour printing professionally, which *might* be cheaper
A lot of this depends on how much cash I have which I why I'm keen to get this done sooner than later, as there's another restructure at work coming in April so who knows if I'll have a job come then!

(Just looking, full colour would be pretty pricey, at least doing it by hand I can pretend to myself that I'm not spending a silly amount because I'm buying the stuff needed bit by bit)
Could look into crowdfunding I guess, not sure if I want to go down that rabbithole!

Oh yes, I mean I'd rather handle stuff in-house as it were, this is just in terms of if help was needed in covering printing costs, though I'm still able to do that at the moment (looks like the big restructure at work has got pushed back again which helps) At the moment I'm paying for all printing out of my own pocket for everything, which does all add up into a worrying amount. I don't mind doing that as I believe in us guys!

Is that for all the TMUK zines or just the ToyFu stall one?
