Can you take meals into a pub and eat them without being caught? I can. I can make myself invisible. I am never caught, not even when eating a giant pizza.

I bought orange juice!
Andu led me astray. I bought a hot fresh pizza from a van at Dunfermline's Food and Draft Weekend thingy and then he insisted on going straight to the pub! I had no choice but to learn the ninja art of Stealth Pub Eating.

I have a friend who is a very slow drinker, so in the past whenever we went on pub crawls he had a pocket inside his coat which very neatly seated a pint glass. He'd take the same drink from pub to pub, just producing it from his coat at will.

He'd do it with this sleight of hand trick so no one noticed for ages. It was really impressive.

What's more challenging? Discretely packet feeling blind bags in Sainsburgeries or stealth eating in public houses?
Ralph being a master of both, I value his input in this matter.

It's definitely not the done thing. A transferable pint I can understand, but food is something else. However in this instance, clearly Andy is to blame for rushing Ralph's pizza purchasing. Bullying!

People bringing in their own food to pubs genuinely makes me really uncomfortable I imagine there's a difference between taking your pizza into a pub that doesn't serve food, and buying lots of drinks when you eat it, and taking your pizza into a pub that sells pizzas, and eating it with a glass of tap water. The difference I think is that a pub's margin on food can make the difference between them being a viable business for the proprietor. A hotel on the other hand will not rely on their food as much to cover their bottom line.

I remember years back going off at someone for bringing a sandwich into a restaurant All the time I have known Toy-Fu Nick, he has had fine form for pulling out sandwiches from his pockets in pubs and other venues. I am always amused. On a slightly more serious bent, I tend to bring my own food to the pub the Glasgow meets happen in as there isn't anything on the small menu there that I can actually eat. I buy drinks. -Ralph
