If you could have any 6 people, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would you have?

I wouldn't invite dead people. Dead people smell and attract flies.

Are you guys just thinking of six people you'd like to have dinner with as individuals, or six people who would go together well at a social gathering?
Would Albert Einstein like sitting at a table with Rik Mayall? Would John Lennon get on with arch-warmonger Napoleon?
It might end in tears...

OK, assuming the dead people are brought back to life, I might go with:
Patrick Moore Michael Palin Harry Secombe His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Kermit the Frog And... oh, how about Hub favourite Brian Blessed
That should be a fun dinner!

Martin I just thought of six people I would want to meet and chat to. It's my dinner party afterall. To hell with the guests! They'd all just have to sit quietly at first anyway whilst I play Keres. I think Einstein and Mayall would get on like a house on fire. ...then Mayall probably would actually set the house on fire...

Ha! He's on my original list too! I feel like he'd be a perfect guest. Polite, good conversation, affable and with many stories of interest.
