Advice for buying a new monitor please, not done it for a bit.
I could also do with some advice as to how calibrate the display settings: plugged my win10 pc into a spare TV but the output looks DREADFUL, cannot focus on text

I assume HDMI. I usually mess around with the resolution settings till I find one thats okay. There does seem to be a sweet spot that depends on the size of the screen.

Yup over HDMI. The recommended resolution is 1920x1080 (IE full HD) but everything is far too small for me at that size.
Was v surprised a cheap ****** Alba TV would go that high!

I would need to check the paperwork for the specific model but when I did the research a few years back, I ended up with a Dell. Not a brand I'd have thought of first, but it's a wonderful screen. I'll look up the model.
