Thinkina dipping into my pittifull budget to get Revoltech Megatron. Anyone had the pleasure? What are they like? I don't own any of the Revoltech toys (Transformers or others) but I have seen some of the rest of the range. The other Revoltech stuff is fantastically poseable, with a huge range of motion in the joints. The sculpts on the Transformers ones however didn't impress me when I saw them - they seemed to be based on the Dreamwave house style, that rather bloated and puffy look. Not to my tastes at all. But if that aesthetic works for you then they might be worth a pickup. Karl

They look like Pat Lee designs brought to hideous 3-D life and so I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, personally.

Hmm, thanks chaps. Good that the poseability is so good. But I know what you mean about the styling, it is very, I dunno, specific. I'm not sure if I like it or not really, can't make up my mind in that respect.

I'm not sure if I like it or not really, can't make up my mind in that respect. I know what you mean. I decided to skip the TF Revoltechs, mostly because the aesthetics don't appeal to me at all. However the line has caught my attention because of the articulation. I'm thinking I might pick up some of the non-TF stuff - like the Patlabor and Macross ones, as the sculpts on those are a lot more pleasing to the eye. Karl

Blast! I can't decide! I'm dying to have a fight between Revol Megs, and Beast Wars T-Rex Megs!

Blast! I can't decide! I'm dying to have a fight between Revol Megs, and Beast Wars T-Rex Megs! I'd say that the T-Rex Meg's has a considerable height advantage there. The Revoltech one being significantly smaller (closer to the size of the Robotmasters T-Rex Meg's than the Beast Wars one). Karl

It'll be a challenge for him alright!
Well, I've ordered him. I'm a bit of a Megatron fan, you see, he's prob my third fave behind Prowl and Shockwave, so couldn't resist! I'll let you know how the fight goes!!

Revoltech Megatron came extreamly quickly form an Amazon supplier called Videodrome. And... I LOVE HIM! Love Love Love him! So another line I'll have to collect cost more funds! Do'h! He's sooooo poseable, one can make him do all sorts! The fun is endless! He's the ultimate Action Master! He's smaller than I thought, but that's not a prob. So with Op out there, and Starscream on the way, I'll have to talk nicely to Mrs Shockprowl! (not bothered 'bout Rodimus). But it's not just the expense, it's also the fact that now I'll be hoping and wishing for them to release my fave characters! Grrr!
Revol Megs vs BW T-Rex Megs.
As karl feared, the size difference put Revol at an immediate disadvantage. However, Revol used his greater maneuverability to stay ahead and evade T-Rex's attacks for a good time, getting in some heafty blows as well. But, ultimately, Revols inability to Transform, and T-Rex's much greater strength proved too much for Revol, and he had to make a hastey withdrawl! Esp when T-Rex implemented his dreaded 'Fussion Breath'! Wicked.

There's a Starscream on the way? And you imply also a Rodimus. Cool, I didn't know that.
I have both Megatron and Optimus (which I prefer of the two) and would welcome more.
Incidentally, do you know that there is also an Ultra Magnus repaint version of Prime? I think it's quite hard to get hold of, though.

Yes, I beleive there is a white repaint of Prime as Magnus. And yes there is a Rodimus, but I'm not fussed 'bout him though. But the limited pics I've seen of Starscream look good. Gota find an Op now.
I'd also like: Soundwave Shockwave Wheeljack Thundercracker Skywarp Ravage Jazz and ofcourse PROWL!
esp as the bastards didn't give me my 6" Titanium Prowl. Bastards.

Just got Revoltech Hot Rod, and bloody hell he's impossible to work with. Is there a trick to removing the hands? Managed to break one pulling at it, and the other one just will not come off.
Suggestions?

Suggestions? I don't have Hot Rod, but I have a similar problem with my Revoltech Ingram Patlabor. It seems to be down to an issue with the manufacturing of the hands - what is supposed to happen is that the plastic is supposed to be slightly compressible so that it pushes into the sockets and then holds firmly. Instead it isn't quite compressible enough on my Ingram (and by the sounds of it, Hot Rod). I used a very slightly twisting motion to initially loosen the Ingram's hands, but it was touch-and-go whether they would come out without breaking the stems. (There are a couple of the hands that I can't actually get to slot in either, which means I haven't been able to have it totting the riot gun). I'm afraid I don't have any brilliant solutions when it comes to the problem - I just worked a couple of hands back into the sockets and have left it alone since. Karl

Hmmm. I had thought to pick up the Hot Rod at some point, but I'll pass if the hands are so fiddly.

It might just be my one, but it's as if those hands are superglued on. I mean, one snapped off at the wrist. I need to use pliers to get them off now.

It does sound like your Hot Rod is significantly worse than anything I've heard of with the Revys. The biggest problem I had was getting hands fitting back in again. (And I ended up with fist shaped indentations in my fingers by the end of it). I think I shall skip the Hot Rod as well, judging by your experience I don't think it would be a lot of fun.
