It's also worth watching for the last fifteen minutes which features ABC Warriors level Martian terraforming style machinery from Germany. An absolutely insanely big mobile excavator just left in a field. It's jawdropping.

A reminder that the Dalek stories start at 6pm every night on Twitch (UK time) from this evening (not everyone has these on DVD for instance). The non-Nation ones have not been streamed before! -Ralph The Time War starts when Hartnell rips out the mutant from the Dalek shell and puts in a cloak (ep 3 of the 1st serial). First blood to the Time Lords! -Ralph

I don't think you can count that. That's purely about escape and survival.
I'd say his actions in The Dalek Invasion of Earth would be more likely to be considered the opening act of the war.

Hmmm. Hadn't watched the Special Edition version of DAY OF THE DALEKS all the way through before. I prefer the original. The added wet splat noise for when folk exploded was a bit much.

But yeah that 'the Doctor uses his laser gun to explode Orgons into chunks of bloody flesh' was a bit much!!!

From the notes in the twitter feed it sounds like a pretty ambitious affair.
"Yes it is being made as authentically as possible. The cameras are slightly later, but no zoom shots, only tracking and fixed size shots. Edward de Souza and I are involved in a filmed Q & A. Nicholas Briggs is the Daleks!"

One wonders if the producers have obtained a licence for this or a 'cease and desist' notice may land on them hard if they try to shop it to the BBC!

But like Levine's Shada we'll probably never get to see it for those exact reasons

Bit more than a school project. It'll be Media Production degree students from the University of Lancashire doing it as a portfolio project. They'll have a proper studio and the tweet said they've sourced almost the right kind of cameras to make it authentic.

Pinwig, your next school project is a rival production of Mission to the Unknown. We expect great things.

Sad thing is, among the younguns these days Who is not something they watch or are interested in. Matt Smith was the last doctor I could actually discuss episodes about with my classes. These days it's something they're aware of, but it's out of fashion.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/purves_peter/status/1098203413790318594Actually if you were going to remake ONE missing episode of DW this is an ideal candidiate. No regular cast, the only returning characters are monsters, several of whom look different to their more regular appearance anyway. The more I see, the more keen on this I'm getting
