I loathe Destiny of the Daleks but thats a nice cover. It's a trap to lure in the unwary. -Ralph

Four rounds of "Identify the Invasion of the Dinosaurs 1 soldiers" for you. I've got close for this episode in working out who everyone is but there's a few faces that I haven't and having got close it's bugging me now .... The first is Norton's patrol. From left to right: 1 ? 2 Norton ,with the stripes on his arm, is played by Martin Taylor 3 Is that Cy Town who I should recognise www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=172574 ? The other 3 soldiers are (thank you DWAS Production File) Cy Town, Ian Elliott & Mike Stevens - but which is which? EDIT: it is Martin Taylor & Cy Town, but with Kelly Varney and driver Colin Hamilton The other soldiers listed for 1 that I can't ID are Dispatch Rider Ken Tracey 1 Army Soldier Ronald Gough 1 Army Soldiers - Patrol 1 Pat Milner 1-2,5 [F] Steve Ismay 1-2,5 [F] UNIT Soldiers Brian Nolan 1,5 [F:1] Geoff Witherick 1 [FO] Army Soldier Roy Pearce 1 [FO] Army Corporal - Patrol 1 Leslie Bates 1,5 [FO] Army Drivers - Patrol 1 Ted Heath 1 [FO] Army Driver Bruce Cox 1 [FO] (F = appears on Film, FO appears Film Only) The soldier between Benton & The Brigadier arrives delivering some documents - is that Dispatch Rider Ken Tracey? Annoyingly his Avelyman entry - www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=97829 - has another actor's photo attached - Richard Reeves www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=122534EDIT: Yes, it's Ken TraceyThere's a moustachioed soldier at the detention centre. No not Dave Carter, he's at left of picture with his back to us, this is the chap between Carter's Sgt Duffy and the Looter Lodge. I think that's Pat Milner, assuming Avelyman has the right photo this time www.aveleyman.com/TVEpisode.aspx?FilmID=118&Episode=1 and I think that's Norton again looming over Lodge's other shoulder. Then to Norton's left in this picture is a chap whose boat race we get a really good look at - any ideas? EDIT: Roy PearceOnto episode 2 and round 2, which may throw some light on round 1! The DWAS production file list the following soldiers for episode 2: Army Soldiers - Patrol 1 Pat Milner 1-2,5 [F] [rep: Brian Nolan on F] Steve Ismay 1-2,5 [F] [rep: Geoff Witherick on F] UNIT Soldiers (inc. Collins) Dennis Plenty 2 [FO] David Billa 2 [FO] Ian Elliott 2 [FO], who was in the Army Patrol with Norton in episode 1 Start by crossing the first two off our list: Steve Ismay & Pat Milner are the soldiers in the location sequence battling the T-Rex at the start. Filmed the same day an close by their episode 1 appearances. Ismay www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=22333Milner www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=22266So we're left with Dennis Plenty, David Billa & Ian Elliott. David Billa is tall and blonde, you can definitely see him at the CEGB location at the end of the episode A google image search for "david billa" "doctor who" will show a few images of him EDIT: He's also at Kingston up a wall!
Which leaves us with Dennis Plenty & Ian Elliott, and two soldiers with Corporal Gorman in the Kingston Meat Market. Cpl Gorman is on the left. So which is which? There's lots of very clear photos of Dennis Plenty from UFO www.aveleyman.com/ActorCredit.aspx?ActorID=24794 but I can't be 100% certain which of the actors here he is! www.nerf-herders-anonymous.com/p/plenty-dennis.html reckons Plenty is on the soldier on the right in both pictures but I was so unsure I showed the wife who said no. We then return to the CEGB location where there's four soldiers with The Doctor, Brigadier and the Dirty Stinking Traitor: Kneeling on the right is David Billa. Next to him is one of the soldiers from the Kingston Meat Market, presumably either Dennis Plenty or Ian Elliott. He's rather distinctive as his uniform is paler. So who are the chaps in he rear row? Neither is Pat Milner, who's quite distinctive. Mr On The Left might be Steve Ismay, see above, but I'm not sure. Mr on the right looks a little like John Levene, but no Sgt's stripes and he's addressed as Corporal at one stage. I don't think it's Pat Gorman again. EDIT: Yes Back Right IS Pat Gorman, and the other two are Ian Elliott and Dennis Plenty. But which is which?

Episode 1 is a bit of a monster by blog standards! It's also led us to identify one of the unknown extras in The Daemons! Well pleased with that :-)

Reading DWM.
Thankgoodness there is a new recon available on The Macra Terror release! The animation cuts the Fun Doctor makeover scene and does not use the original shooting script!
I suspect the recon will be my preferred viewing option with the animation as an interesting alternative.

Yup. A different approach is being taken with the animation this time (also a larger budget and longer lead time than Power). It would bother me but as there is also a brand new recon on the release then I am happy enough. More people need to experience the Macra!
