HURRAH!
I turned to Jonathan and said "I know that voice!" and sure enough :-)
They did well keeping that quiet.

Wahey! Doctor Who is back at last! That was fabulous! Real mind-mangling stuff. How many twists were there in that?! So much to think about, but blow me that Judoon head has to be the best animatronic the show has ever had. They were really well written too. Got me itching to get my Judoon toys out.

I was enjoying it until it became clear the episode wasn't really an episode just a lot of setting stuff up (and I have little faith in Chibbers in that respect) It was nice to see Jack but uh, he had nothing to do with the plot. Why was he there? What was the point?? Have the entire writing team forgot how stories work??

Blue's point is a good one, but I'm okay with it because it's making the series feel more connected. Like the fact there was a cliffhanger this time. Feels like an ongoing serial. If you put 1,2 and 5 together it feels like every episode is designed to run into the next.

5.38 is 1.5 million down on Skyfall part 1 but still above that five episode run at the end of Capaldi's era that dipped into the four millions before his last one. 77 is the lowest AI rating since Eccleston's first two episodes got 76. Interesting. I have to say, off the back of Orphan 55 I didn't bother watching this week's episode on Sunday. It's recorded and I will watch it, but I don't really have any urge to. Never ever felt like that about Who before. I partly blame having to watch nothing but Star Trek last week, but felt exactly the same after Orphan 55.

Arc of Infinity proving interesting, and on the whole far better than my last watch of it. I've found JNT in part 4 at long last, I've spotted where the youth hostel shows up in the chase sequence, found Earthshock's trooper Collis on duty on gallifrey and spotted some interesting control panels whose origins I'm attempting to clarify.
Going to Amsterdam and having an entire episode with no location filming is pretty unforgivable though! But the chase has been a joy working out what's where. There's a couple of spots that neither of my sources - Mr Bignell's book and locations website - seem to identify.
Story is still a mess, but I've enjoyed this visit much more than I was expecting to. Episode 4 still needs a bit of work, might be Snakedancing by Monday if all is well

Jesus that was another stinker. The dialogue in that one was really clunky. Bored now of being preached at. That's the second really obvious 'humans are amazing but you're being shit to your planet' this season, and another 'hey kids, being a scientist is amazing!'
Both those messages are valid and important, but the writing is not helping making them feel important.

First half was good then (like most of last season) it devolved into "here is a message" but lacking an exciting story with which to tell it. Still better than s11 though as the Doctor is just so much better written.

completely ignored last week's too, which was a mistake. Should have been some carryover
They can't do preachy without it being a sledgehammer

The ratings are continuing to collapse week on week, just like s11 but we are below even those figures. I personally think the show is much better this year overall but something about it is just not connecting with general audiences. Overnights and plus 7 figures are dropping each week. It will be interesting to see what the approach next time is.

That's the same Amazon product listing as the original. It's been in my wishlist since it came out. All that's changed is the release date, so the email notification thing isn't a cause for concern, it's been like that since the first release went out of stock.
