Stephen Baskerville has started selling original, one-off Transformers art pieces. First up, Galvatron.

So that should have been the cover for #314?
[#313 being the new cover by STAZ & 314 being the US cover but better colouring]
I hope Stephen digs out some other items that we dont know about.
Be nice to see printed covers artwork up
#312,308,296,275,268,261-263,253-256,190,195,178,

That's a savage price too, can't believe it hasn't been snapped up yet. Fair play to him for not taking the piss with the price tag.

Great piece, great price. Does look like an unused UK cover. I think a certain 'professional' hubber is the winning bidder...

Yoink!
Only now getting a taste for classic original TF art. Where was I when Wildman and Sullivan were offloading all their old gear? (On Ignorance Street, Paupersville, that's where...)
Hope we see more in the same vein from Baskers. What a talent. A Powermaster Prime would go luvverly with this one.

Has Staz ever sold his cover art? Particularly those painted covers circa issue 330?

Very nice indeed.
Staz was selling covers and interior pages at AA2008.

No, If I'm reading the description correctly, this is a new, original piece he has drawn specifically to sell and nothing to do directly with the Marvel comics. "One of a new series of individual pieces..."

That is a very nice piece indeed. If I had possessed enough money in my Paypal account I would have gone after it myself. Well done in snagging that Nick. T'will be a thing that looks rather nice up on the wall.

Nice snag Nick.
Will have to add Mr baskerville to my favourite ebay sellers so I can keep any eye on what he produces!

It also says he does comissions in the item description. Could be worth looking into...

POTENTIAL EMPLOYER: "So, Mr Bains, you unemployed fool. Why should we give you this job?" ME: "So I can comission Stephen Baskerville to draw a Blaster picture for me." POTENTIAL EMPLOYER: "..." ME: "And a Shockwave one too." POTENTIAL EMPLOYER: "You're hired!"

The man himself has this to say:
"Basically, as an introductory offer I can do commission art A4 (21cm x 29.6 cm), featuring 1 character and background for £50 + postage (£75 + postage for 2 or more characters) or A3 (29.6x 42cm),featuring 1 character and background for £90 + postage (£120 + postage for 2 or more characters). If you'd like any of these options, but without any background, just deduct £20 from any of the above prices. Payment by paypal before the commission is started. Any subject/character, (but you may need to supply me with reference if it's obscure), cover recreations, (whether I inked them originally or not). E-mail me at stephenATbazkervilleDOTwanadooDOTcoDOTuk if you're interested. Please feel free to pass on these details to anyone you like."
Note the edits I made to the address. But good to know, eh? He really hasn't lost it at all.

He paints Hound in glow in the dark paint and sends him after those who would set foot on his manor

Only now getting a taste for classic original TF art. Where was I when Wildman and Sullivan were offloading all their old gear? You might want to add andrewwildman.blogspot.com/ to your newsfeeds as every now and then he finds some more artwork. Mainly Joe stuff at the moment but he did recently find some 2099, so there could be some TF stuff tucked away too. Actually (thinking of past e-mails) he may still have some TF covers, so it could be worth e-mailing him to check.

I've bought some art from Wildman in the past. He's quite friendly to deal with.

Yeah, I nabbed some WW:Dark Ages Pages from him last year featuring Springer and Shockwave, and was very happy to do so. Still holding out for some more pages from his final TF run to re-remerge, but he must have gotten shot of them by now. And to think he had pages form #80 to sell at Cons years ago...arghh!
Very tempted about the cover recreation service being offered by Baskers though. Might ask him to have a pop at that splash page of AM Prime from #80...hmmm.

I have been seriously pondering a commission or two myself. There are a couple of characters that I could go a Baskerville version of on the wall.

Nick ASAIK he's got shot of most of them at cons and the old Wildfur site over the last few years, alas. I was lucky enough to nab a page from #80. Baskerville has put up a few pages from the run too. -Ralph

That AM Prime splash from US#80 would be a good commission. Damn fine image!

I can definitely see myself ordering a commission or two when on a better financial footing. One of which would have to be a recreation of the 'help us' Megatron/Ratchet cover!

Heh. Probably two I would imagine.
His rates are pretty reasonable for a pro artist. If I were better off his e-mail addy would be under heavy assault by me right now! I do love original TF art.
