So out of a morbid curiousity I picked this up to check it out. A morbid, fatal curiousity. And my review: Gahahaahahha. Okay, I am hot on the idea of using underutilised characters. But Micromasters introduces precisely eleventy billion characters, all crammed onto each page with cluttered art, strange colouring and WORDSWORDSWORDSWORDS. I actually have no idea what the plot was, having finished it. Some Micromasters wander about Cybertron then wander off? I thought it would have to do with the Golden Disc which is on the cover, but that gets mentioned in a 'SEE G1 ONGOING ISSUE 5" way. BAD miniseries BAD. It wasn't all horrid, there were a few good moments, especially Shockwave's severed head sending 'hurp de lurp' messages to his Decepticons, and some nice if grossly underdeveloped concepts. Mostly though it seemed to be a lot of stuff happening, but without anything actually happening. Also christ my eyes

Pretty awful stuff, still the benchmark for truly awful TF comics.

I dunno, I think Megatron: Origin edges it out as the /worst/ TF comic.

I've only read the first issue of M:O, after Dreamwave my willingness to read shitty TF comics waned. But I braved all four issues of Micromasters and I still have trouble sleeping.

Micromasters, along with Megatron: Origin and All Hail Megatron, are the only TF comic series I've stopped after the first issue. With age, you can tell quite quickly if something's not for you.

The second IDW Beast Wars mini was one I binned after issue 1. It was really only the Nick covers that kept me buying the first series.

I stuck with that one until the (ass) ending. I quite liked the first couple of issues...

The Beast Wars minis were way too rushed and had way too many characters in them but I rather liked them, in at least stuff happened, there was a clear plot, a sense of urgency leading towards resolution.
I have no idea what the plot in Micromasters and Megatron: Origin was. Nor what happened really.

Micromasters is unlikely to be reprinted, however, due it being one of the series where creators were not paid. Megatron: Origin will be hanting us in reprints for some time to come though!

Whilst I abhor Dreamwave for its awful business practises, if someone made that comic for me, I wouldnt' pay them! :v
In some ways I prefer Micromasters to Megatron: Origin in that is tried to do something new and failed, rather than to just go 'hurp-a-durp-a' and fail

Somebody on here occasionally posts parody versions of TF comics with new words in the speech bubbles. If this was done to the Micromasters comics they might actually be worth reading.

I'm sure somebody here can furnish you with the issues for you to have a go at them.

Whoever is distributing Micromasters in such a way should be punished to the full extent of a nightstick. And not for piracy.
