I'd just like to lament and moan about the lack of comic specials that get released anymore. I used to love the holidays when you could go into a newsagent and there would be dozens of specials for the various comics from Marvel, DC Thomson, Fleetway/IPC, LEM and the various other publishers.
Sure a lot of the things were reprints but to our young eyes we were often not aware of that (save for the Marvel ones that had Collected Comics on the cover). I've been enjoying the Egmont Classic Specials they've been doing at the moment but wish we could see more.
2000ad abandoned the Sci-Fi special, and their winter special is now effectively a bumper sized prog and only available for a three week period.
Dammit I want more!!!
Even in the dying days of Marvel UK I would buy the various Marvel Super Heroes Specials, usually wrapped in a kick-ass cover was a random assortment of stories (often culled from the US annuals) but generally they were fun.

Yeah, I miss specials. Passed many a rainy day pouring over them.
