It's New Technology week at Phil's DFiS.
As you'll have read the TV died and neededto be replaces with a rather decent new set. Liz has been doing extra work for the OU so there's some spare cash about at the mo...
At the same time Liz bought a new Netbook and I got an MP3 player.
When we got home I got the inevitable telling off about the speaker cables all over the room and demands to fix it.
No says I, the amp needs doing first (bust)
How much says she ?
£250 says I off the top of my head.
And she stumps up the cash :-)
Phil is off to buy HDMI and Optical leads later and is lookng fwd to being able to listen to CDs properly again.

Still packing stuff up to move. I found an entire shelf full of VHS tapes, and a poster of Supreme Cheetor!
Someone is getting that poster as a PRESENT at Auto Assembly!

Things are dwardling along here. Bloody hot too - it's going to be 93 degrees F tomorrow, or 34 celcius for you metric folk. In no air conditioning. With an enclosed lab with computers and whatnot.
Have sent resumes to a few other places. Maybe have an interview in the last week of July with a company which may well end up being my last hope for a non-minimum wage job. We'll see what happens.

Remember the Blood Test I had ? My Iron Deficent Anaemia is ragingly out of control (an acceptable Iron Count is between 30 and 300: Mine is 10). So double the iron tablets - more black poo - and go for a blood test to make sure I've not got Coeliac disease.# Interestingly the Wikipedia article on Iron Deficent Anaemia mentions myelin which is involved in the fuction of the CMT

Hang in there Doc', hope it works out. Sorry 'bout the Iron, Phil. Thinking cooling thoughts for the rest of you hot people.
Hopefully getting the central heating re-done in the house next week. Gotta be done, but dreading the work and the hole in my pocket! Time to sell my body again I suppose!

We've just picked up our Botcon add-ons. There were a LOT of Primus package holders this year so extras were strictly limited- one per person. Due to wheeling and dealing that would have left Delboy Trotter slack-jawed in awe I now have 3 full sets. W00T!
I also now have $127 to my name until I can use the cashpoint again.

Phil, sorry to hear that the blood test results weren't so good. Hopefully the Iron Tablets will go some way to sorting it out.
Dinogrrl, a belated good luck with the job hunting, I shall keep my fingers crossed that your July interview achieves positive results.
As to 34C.... hmm, between that and the temperatures that my mother experienced in Texas a couple of weeks ago I am coming to think that it is fortunate I live in the UK. Some parts of the world are clearly too warm for Karls.

Well played! In the current economic climate, if you can hang on to a job when you haven't got a permanent contract you must be doing some darn good work.

COMMON DOC'!!!!!! Kick ass, big guy.
The Gorillaz at Glaston' are bloody fantastic.
A sand pit the size of Westminster Abbey was one of the toys we decided to splash out on this Piglet-Birthday. Not sure it's irony as such, but the sand to fill the smegging pit costs as much as the 'pit' (it's very nice, wooden log style thingy) itself! Every time Pigelt sportingly puts a handfull of sand on a part of the garden that she isn't supposed too it's like "hmm, there goes antoher 50pences worth" and so on. Ahhhh, bless the little crazy creature.
