Some stories have clever story-specific names - 'Changing Gears', 'Recipe for Disaster', 'Pretender to the Throne', 'In the National Interest'. Others have impressive-sounding but quite generic and interchangeable names - 'Heavy Metal War', 'The Ultimate Doom', 'All Fall Down', 'Totalled'. Others still simply describe the main distinguishing feature of the story in so many words - 'The Desert island of Space', 'Dinobot Hunt', 'Matrix Quest', 'Two Megatrons'.
But some of the biggest Transformers stories ever told HAVE NO NAMES! I'm thinking specifically of:
- Marvel US #1 - The 1986 animated movie (OK, it had a comic adaptation in three parts with the names 'The Planet Eater', 'Judgment Day' and 'The Final Battle', but no overall name) - The 2007 live-action movie
(Feel free to add to the list.)
This thread is a challenge for people to come up with the best serious names for those three stories. Something a lot cleverer than, say, 'Arrival from Cybertron', 'The Rise of Hot Rod' and 'Hunt for the Allspark'. Something really special, worthy of those stories' landmark positions in TF lore.
Go away and have a ponder before posting your best ideas.

Hate to be a spoilsport and feel free to pelt me with rubber rocks, but US #1 does have a name! It's just called 'The Transformers' on the page, which actually works fine as a title for story 1.

Well... yeah... And the 1986 animated has a name - "The Transformers: The Movie". And the 2007 film has a name: "Transformers". But as the series overall is also called "(The) Transformers", I was just wondering if anyone could come up with a good story-specific name for any of them - just for fun. 'Cos you have to admit, "Transformers" describes the subject matter of a great many Transformers stories. Martin

I'm surprised that nobody has come up yet with silly titles that no-one would take seriously.
