Unexpected certainly.
Admittedly a matter of less immediate concern to me in these days of buying my comics online - I tend to find myself doing my ordering on a Friday or Saturday as things stand.
An interesting shift so see them aligning the US and UK shipping days though. I wonder if they are going for economies of scale by concentrating the work in the same window?

This would make a difference to me if I was A) buying more floppys and B) not using a LCS that's 80 miles away. I kept my comics order with the shop I was using in Richmond, Surrey before I moved down to Swindon. Since I've only been getting 3ish a month and been going to Mum's about every month or two it hasn't made much difference.

Doesn't make much of a difference to me, but if Diamond are trying to be a bit more professional about how they do things then I shan't complain.

Well Diamond UK have sent out an e-mail saying no.
And I think it's just a misread of the e-mail sent to the US retailers which talks about everyone getting their deliveries the day before the new comics go on sale. Said e-mail mentions Tuesday delivery for Wednesday sale, as that's what happens in the US and the e-mail was only sent out to US retailers, who don't need to know [and don't care] that the UK has a Thursday release date.
If anything, it might just mean that all UK shops will get their deliveries on a Wednesday for Thursday sale. Which I already get, so it won't affect me.

Well done Diamond UK.
Claps unenthusiastically...

Well, the latest on Bleeding Cool is saying that it's going to happen, Diamond just have to finalise the specifics before giving any solid information, which is fair enough. I like the idea as Tuesday/Wednesday are usually the dead sales days of the week, so it could perk things up. Or it may just spread things out and weekly sales totals won't be affected.
