It hits the newsagents tomorrow. I shall take a punt on the first issue and see what I think. Anyone else giving it a go?

I shall be giving it a miss. The title actively offends me, especially now I've seen the typeface. Oh, look, it's like it says C*NT, especially if a picture obscures a certain letter ho ho. How fucking hilarious. Grow up, Mark Miller. I'm no prude, but that's just juvenile bollocks.
But then a whole magazine devoted to the cult of Mark Millar was never going to be something I wanted to read.
So no, I'm not buying it!

I will take a look when Diamond UK decide to send it out, but I doubt I'll buy.
I did ask Titan if I could order the magazine from them, so I wouldn't have to bother with Diamond UK, and they said no. I expect FP didn't have the same problem and will therefore have the magazine a whole week [maybe 2] before me and it will mess up sales of it and I'll end up ordering sod all in the future when I could be selling tens of copies, TENS!!!

Why wouldn't Titan let you order them, if you don't mind me asking?

Who knows, they just said no when I asked. Maybe they have different distribution channels for their magazines, and my account is set up for tpbs.

Sounds a bit daft. But then the comic industry seems to be full of that.

Maybe they just don't like money.

Picked it up this morning from my local WH Smiths.
Dumped on a random shelf - nowhere near comics, nowhere near the lads mags. Way to go.

I'm not sure its chances of success are that great, even with the various big names involved. I'd guess teens who want to read comics will just read normal comics, and those reading say, Nuts or Zoo are unlikely to read this just because it's got comedians, drug references and half naked women in it a little.
It's a bit weird that it has Frankie Boyle on the cover, but then doesn't seem to actually credit him on his actual comic strip...

Only skimmed through it.
Picked up the latest 2000ad and that got my attention first.

Well I've read it.
Turf is beyond a shadow of a doubt the best thing in it. Kick Ass v2 is more of the same from V1 - nice art and colouring - don't give a toss about the story. Nemesis is just there and is trying so hard to be cool it and failing. Frankie Boyle's strip didn't work for me at all. The small three page one off was a sub-par Future Shock.
The features were horseshit of the highest order.
Biggest crime - none of the comics have any creator credits, although there is the copyright notice but no credits to the colourists and letterers of the stories.
Will I stick around? Probably - at least until Turf finishes, after that well who can say. More looking forward to the John Freeman edited Strip Magazine when it comes.
