The 2010 quest for the best mince pie has begun !
I wasn't that impressed with the Morrisons Short Crust Mince Pies.

Co-op ones are usually good but I'm thinking of trying out the Poundland ones sometime.

Phil is pleased to recomend the Morrisons Instore Baked Luxury Mince Pies @ £1.65 for 4 or £2.50 for 8.
They were great!

I never liked mince pies when I was younger, I do like them now though. HOWEVER mince pies are for Christmas, it is not yet Christmas time, you are worse than the supermarkets!

I have never been able to eat a mince pie because the name of it frightens me. Don't ask me why. It's one of those deeply irrational fears I can't explain.

I'm the same with gluten-free bread. Now I don't need to eat it, so it's not a problem, but I can't stand being near the stuff. It's very existence just seems wrong to me somehow.

What I don't understand is that out of 'mince' and 'mincemeat', it's the former that actually has meat in it.
Edit: I love Greggs mince pies. They have a hand-made feel about them and aren't spoilt by the omnipresent sugar on top - just flour.

Icing sugar I can live with but the ones with granular type sugar really bugs me. Andy

I knew there was something I had forgotten to add to my monthly shopping delivery. This thread has reminded me what it was. Ah well, a detour on the way home one evening will sort that out.

I reckon so. I've done it before. I normally keep some about when Christmas stuff has disappeared from the shops
