Minty fresh copy of JUDGEMENT ON GOTHAM (the UK newsstand edition) found at comic mart. Good to find as my copy was lost many years ago. Also grabbed THE COMPLETE JUDGE DREDD #9 as it still had the free badge!

I see the latest 2000AD collection book is Ace Trucking Co vol 1. Do we know if they're collecting all of the original Ace strips? I will have to buy those ones if so. I wish the whole collection was classic stuff like this, I'd have gone for that. I just don't need hundreds of Nicolai Dante books.

I have paused buying this series (the local newsagent is still getting it in) partly down to finances. Thinking I will just wait until there are more of them out and bulk order the ones I fancy, perhaps when there is a sale.

Day of Chaos was pretty damned good, but what came after was much more interesting. Especially the build up to Every Empire Falls.

No, Trifecta was kept separate.

it is the psot chaos stuff, its just really nice storytelling and since I only really got into 2000ad last year or two its nice to read some more middle dredd stuff since I bought some early colections and obviously got some later stuff.
just a really nice vibe to it

They are building to one the now.
The ongoing Sons of Booth threads that are being woven. We've had an attempted coup from within - Sinfield. The coup from without - Texas-City - now we have the citizen uprising on the cards.
Give it time.

I was happy to receive this year's Sci-Fi Special in the post on Monday! I went for Emily Zeinner's Hershey cover although print copies do not include her credit. No spoilers here, but my thoughts: I enjoyed the Dredd tale, which with Babs Tarr's choice to follow the Stallone costume design certainly matched Beeby's attempt at ruffling Squaxx' feathers (as she admitted on the Thrillcast). I also noted a layout credit to J.Wyatt. Tarr worked from Cameron Stewart's layouts for Batgirl but I think Motor Crush is all her - perhaps this was to speed up production as much as anything. Tyranny Rex looked good overall, reminding me of Rian Hughes' work from the 90s but the storytelling could have been better. The Rogue story hit the spot, I enjoyed that one, and the Future Shock was good too, but Darkness Descends had probably my favourite artwork. The final three strips were pretty strong: DaNi's art is lush, Tharg's face in the Terror Tale made me smile (and that strip overall worked well), and the final story with Anderson was a success on both art and story. I welcome more work from these talented creators in the progs of the future! (copy pasted this from my post on 2000AD forum)

Picked up this morning but not had a chance to flick through yet. Feels meaty though.
Hadn't realised there were cover variants. All the ones in my WHSmiths had the same cover (not the one above) I think.

Doh bugger. Had a million jobs to do this morning, been on the go in town since 8am. What's the one thing I forgot to do? check Smiths for the special. I even stood there with SFX and Legends in hand thinking, what else was I doing in here?
Sigh. Next week.
