Pretty enjoyable read. Blaster is a very well imagined mix of sunbow chap and Budiansky veteran. A good done-in-tale, with some smart art and a good sense of atmosphere. Having Blaster be a character not a million miles away from Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam does add a certain something to the overall IDW set-up.

Quite enjoyed this. Works very well as a stand-alone story, but has a nice trap-door in it for a sequel at some later date. The plot was decent - although the "how" of it was unfortunately a little bit obvious.
Liked this version of Blaster - a bit of a "have your cake and eat it" in the merging of a private face and a public front that allowed bits from both previous versions of the character to be used.
Good solid stuff, one of the better Spotlights all told.

Very good spotlight, I enjoyed Emiliano Santalucia's art, very clean and vibrant.
A nice out having Bombshell be responsible, but part of me wished they could have done a proper "traitor" Autobot.

Really, really enjoyed that!
Welcome depth and a new angle to Blaster's character and I loved the artwork. Has Mr Santalucia done anything else?
Ending was a bit disappointing, with Furman having been there done that in Perchance to Dream and I think that Aerialbots over America had a similar ending where the human refused to pull Megatron's trigger as the sight of his daugher overrode Bombshell's mind control. Actually, it's probably quite a well-told plot thinking on it.
It was also nice to see a few more of the Autobots and their status in the IDW narrative.

I did get some very excitable texts from Merrifield regarding the appearance of a certain someone in a certain panel.

Actually, it's probably quite a well-told plot thinking on it. It's funny, I didn't immediately think of "Aerialbots over America" or anything when I read that page. For some reason it made me think of the ending of "The Ipcress File" - the film with Michael Cain. But that might just be my miswiring. Karl

Am I the only one who did not guess that MMMPPHHH was the traitor?

I actually didn't have a clue who the traitor was - I had a fair idea how/why they were the traitor but wasn't sure who it was.

I knew from the first silhouette. It's that Santalucia bloke's fault for drawing such distinctive characters!

He's no stranger to a licensed book as he was the main artist for MV Creations He-Man book. His art was pretty good, sadly Mattel being the heavy handed license owners pretty much thwarted any plans of a story being told. Andy

Somehow I missed the silhouette when I was reading it the first time, but I had figured that a cerebro-shell would be behind it.

Andy I agree - good stuff, but a true traitor stroy would have been better I may have had it that Beachcomber, who wants to see an end to the war, disliked the jingositc rally calls of Blaster, perhaps feeling he was extending the war, and without 'hope-mongers' like hime, some accord could have been reached - maybe

Maybe it could have been Siren out of jealousy? Or Trailbreaker, since he was originally supposed to be the Autobots' "cheerleader" according to his Tech Specs.

Yeah, he could easily have been an actual traitor, it'd be not that hard to give him a reason to off Blaster - though since they'e using Bombshell, I wonder how many other Autobots have been... turned?
Blaster's new role and character is great. Roll on more Blaster!

I loved this Spotlight! Deffo one of the best so far. Easily on a part with Kup and Shockwave! Blaster is a wonderfull character. I never enjoyed him much in the old marvel comic, same as Bumblebee and HotRod in that respect. But as with those other 2 characters Blaster has been given new life by IDW/Furman! I want a Classics Blaster now! And the art was outstanding, has he done anything else? Oh, except Silverbolt's lips, what's going on there? They seemed really defined to me, and kinda fembot! Any ideas who the character was in the scene with Jazz and Smokescreen? 10 out of 10 from Shockprowl.
