Here are some sites that will come in handy if you are thinking of producing fanfiction or some fanart and are looking for background info or reference pics. theunderbase.co.uk - a wiki created and overseen by John Cullen which is evolving into a repository of the majority of TMUK material, including pdf's, profiles and a timeline and storyguide. The password for editing the site is tmukunderbase. groups.yahoo.com/group/tmuk/ - contains fiction and discussions and has an archive available to members stretching back several years. www.botchthecrab.com/archive/ - a site containing box art of the majority of Transformers toys stretching right the way through ftom 1984 to just prior to G2. www.tfu.info - photos of almost every single Transformer toy from 1984 to the current lines.

Does anyone remember back on the old Hub, there was a link to a tutorial that dealt with colouring? I think the tutorial was on a Deviant Art page, the Deviant Art member whose page it was coloured work for IDW and the tutorial was using Photoshop. The tutorial started with a pencil image of a robot with the end result being a black lined yellow coloured robot on a background that looked like Cybertron.
Does anyone remember this tutorial and where to find it?
Thanks in advance.

Yesterday I discovered the wonder that is the Wacom Cintiq, for those of you that don't know what a Wacom Cintiq is then I think the best way to describe it is a computer screen you use like a piece of paper to draw straight on to: www.wacom.com/cintiq/ Here is a youtube video that shows it in action: Now the 21UX maybe selling at around £2000 but I think it is something I'll save for in the future as it would save me so much time when drawing. |<o>|

Is there a decent background tutorial around? Especially for inside ships/bases and cybertronian landscapes. I've had a look around deviant art but no luck. Anyone have any tips?

There is a free online creative picture software called Sumo Paint which can be found here: www.sumopaint.com It is very much like PhotoShop but I doubt it will have ALL of the functions of Photoshop. You don't have to pay for it or download it, you go to the website, click on the Sumo on the middle left of the home page and the software will open up. You can upload and save pictures you create to your computer or to a Sumo Paint account by the looks of it. |<o>|

How do they compare to the mighty GIMP?

I know of GIMP but have not downloaded it or used it.
Sumo Paint looks good as it has a number of PhotoShop tools and is set up like PhotoShop which I like as I don't have to learn another method of working and can just call upon my PhotoShop experience. It is great as well as I don't have to worry about installing it, all is needed is to go to the website and start using it there.

getpaint.netFree drawing program based on MSpaint, but with a lot of the trickery of Photoshop and GIMP. Much more friendly to use than GIMP. Andy
