I own exactly one 6 inch Black Series (Jyn Erso) but IG-88 is on sale and I am tempted.

Meanwhile, Star Wars Retro is finally shelfwarming in the local Asdaland (even at discount) after months of flying straight off shelves. Except for Stormtroopers. They still vanish. I guess everyone now finally has had a chance to get the others.
I had a mad moment of almost buying 2 spare Chewies until I came to my senses.
Hmmmm. Do I take a chance on seeing if Asda get wave 2 in or order online?

I think the online preorder prices are good enough to do it that way to be safe. I think that boat's sailed for me now. I've just noticed the first wave has sold out at the usual places. ID still had them the other day!
The Empire ones are more appealing I think, I had more of those back in the day. Possibly all of them except Lando.

I'm finding myself surprisingly glum at missing the retro figures, but I had enough chances.

As you say, later figures have more of a pull for you so maybe Wave 1 did not have enough to grab you. My era was ROTJ toys but I still have some nostalgia for older SW figures as older relatives had them. But a Retro wave of ROTJ would be an instant day-1 pre-order within seconds.

I can see that coming. It felt to me like Hasbro didn't realise how popular these would be because they dried up after the first run and then came back everywhere for quite a while afterwards. I know the empire retro set is supposed to tie in with the 40th black series ones, but it would make sense to have a Jedi set next year to give a sense of completion. Biker Scout and Chief Chirpa required there!
If they started doing vehicles I'd pay the late tax to catch up.

Thing is if they do go to Jedi for the next wave, that means no C3P0 or R2.

Oooo, Retro Vehicles would be lovely. I'm not a frequent SW toy buyer. Just the odd thing every now and then, but the Retro figures have really pulled me in. They're just so well done. They flew under my radar until I saw them in person and saw how good they are.

Came home from school via Asda. No queue so because I wasn't going to inconvenience anyone by taking their place unnecessarily, I popped in quick to check the toy aisle. Found an out of stock shelf ticket for the retro figures, which was surprising in itself as two months back when I checked before they didn't have any sign of them at all.

Oh no. ID somehow appear to have got the American releases of the first wave back in stock. £70 though. If I get those, they'll look different to the UK ones because they don't have the white paper bit in.

Doing a lot of SW figure reading tonight. Planning. Strategizing. Anyway, several fan news sites were involved in a Hasbro Q&A recently, noticed this question and answer that says retro series vehicles aren't impossible. Question 1.) Since the Retro Collection is very popular, will we see a Retro Collection Playsets, Creatures, and etc from the past in the future?
Hasbro Answer Hasbro (Patrick): Thats interesting, We have been super excited about the Retro Collection, it seems to have kind of kicked of a trend of bringing back these figures from our youth, so we love seeing the reactions of fans to both the F4 version and F5 one this year. Honestly we originally intended these for the more casual fans, kind of hitting that nostalgia throw back trend. But we see hardcore fans loving it as well, so we been really excited about that. Uh obviously you know, we always say we cant reveal anything new that has not already been previously revealed. Thats a awesome idea, if the retro collection continues in the future its definitely something we can explore. One of the things we would want to make sure is one of the things that make the Retro Collection cool is that those sculpts and styling is so different from what figures look like today. We would just have to look at to see if the same thing is true towards vehicles and creatures. I think Vehicles especially since those are kind of you know easier to tool panels for, there may not be as many differences from the vehicles today so it may not be as meaningful but that is a cool idea and something we talked about and something you may see in the future. starwarscollector.com/8-front-page-news/10048-morning-q-a-session-with-hasbro-s-star-wars-team

A moment of joy! Thanks to tremendous assists from Bogatan and Llama I've got the first wave of the retro figures sorted. Llama's Stormtrooper escaped just before the birth and Bogatan bagged the other five, which were waiting when I got home today. Ta chaps!
These are just fantastic. That Darth Vader figure in his plastic cape is such a nostalgasm. That was where it all started. Been a toy collector since. We must have Artoo and Threepio! Vehicles!
Hoth wave pre-order in.

Age old problem: you're fine without it until it becomes unavailable, at which point it becomes essential. This could be a really nice collection if they keep it going.
