Very stiff today, following yesterday's half marathon. Suffering a bit of heatstroke, face is a touch sore and a little nauseous. Mood enhanced by arrival of Transformers The Movie poster magazine.

I'm very, very annoyed. My next-door neighbour's landlord has chopped down every single tree and bush in their back garden, including the lovely big evergreen tree almost half overhanging my garden, which blackbirds were nesting in. It's a complete massacre on their side of the fence, and spoilt the look of the entire left hand side of my back garden. I need to plant a tree and more bushes on my side to mitigate things ASAP. But nothing's going to bring the blackbirds back. Martin

Did the Blackbirds escape unscathed - what about their eggs? Poor things.

I imagine the birds would have scarpered as soon as anyone touched the tree. They're very jumpy things. But any eggs would be a goner.

Exhausting and surreal day at work. 9-6, no breaks other than the loo but that's what happens sometimes when you work with people so I'm not complaining. Need to nip in early doors tomorrow to tidy some things up.
I am absolutely ******. Holiday badly required. The last 6 months have suddenly caught up with me!

Are you aware that what the Landlord has done is a criminal offence? www.rspb.org.uk/advice/law/whatsintheroof/thelaw.aspxAll birds, their nest and eggs are protected by the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981, and it is thus an offence to damage or destroy an active nest or prevent parent birds access to their nests.

Bah! to Martin's neighbour. Blackbirds deserve living room as much as people do, let alone the trees.
I seem to have picked up a persistent headache today, it is moving around as if there is a little bloke trying to find a weak spot from which he can tunnel his way out through my skull. Ah well, only three days left this week before I have over a weeks' holiday. I am looking forward to it.
On the plants front though my Budlea, which I thought had been killed when work started on my neighbours' extension, has not only survived being rescued from the bottom of a deep hole and replanted but appears to have also survived the arctic conditions of earlier in the year. A week ago I considered giving it up for dead and digging it out. I am glad I didn't as there is new growth sprouting from various parts of it at the moment. It looks like it might just make it.

Handed in my last assignment which was a case study on two scenes from Twilight: Eclipse. I am pretty much finished with my Media and Culture degree now.
Being a Stay-At-Home Dad right now is actually a lot of fun and hard work too. I know some people sneer at that sort of thing, but I don't give a hoot. I spend a lot of time bonding and playing with Blaise as well as taking care of her.
Hopefully the oppurtunity to work on more films will arise soon. My acting debut will be screened to media types and the general public at a gallery next month. I hope the spectators will enjoy my performance more than I will. It might open a few doors too.

Are you aware that what the Landlord has done is a criminal offence? Yes, I was aware, and I'd have told him if I'd known in advance what he was going to do. But it's too late now. Martin

That went well. Mental Health left me with a self assessment questionaire and there's so much I mark as strongly agree with that I'll stroll the diagnosis.

Took Tinkerbell to the vet this morning. Just the annual check-up but she wasn't happy about it and spent the next hour giving me the evil eye.

Why is my headache still present and correct? I was kind of hoping to get rid of that over the course of last night but this does not appear to have worked out for some reason.

Had another chat with the new lady next-door. Somewhat consoled that despite the landlord wanting to get rid of it, the tree out front is staying (I think the Council stopped him), and my worst fears that they were going to get the whole yard paved over will not be realised. They have a gardener in who will be putting in flowerbeds, etc. We shall see.
Anyway, I gave them the printed literature on the law about disturbing birds' nests, to pass onto their landlord in case he has other properties that might be in the firing line. We remain on speaking terms and they still have my permission to park in my drive. (I have two spaces and no car, they have one space and two cars, and it just looks silly with one of theirs on the road blocking the other one in, with my empty space alongside.)

Hit the wall today. Tried to go for a jog despite feeling super-tired and lasted literally less than a minute. Roll on Friday and a change of scenery for a week. I really do need it. I do feel very flabby. What little increased exercise I have managed of late has made the gut I have developed over the last year become somewhat more obvious, which really gets me down and people saying "och, you're fine" really does not help, especially as dark colours/extra layers in the winter months helped disguise it. It's obvious to me and I have went from M to L size shirts.

Good for you to keep at it, Doc'. Kick that wall down.
Martin, your neighbor's Landlord is an asshole, 'case you hadn't realised.
Hope the head feels better, Karlos.
HEEELLLOOOOOO SPPOOOORRRRTSSSFAAAAANNNSSS!!!!!!!!
I've had a busy weekend playing with the drunk little boys and girls. They're ever so funny. I love it when you can't tell if they're unconscious because of the drink, or because of the head injury! Marvelous fun!
Finished at 0600 this morning, few hours sleep, then off into the garden! -After going to Argos to purchase the footstool that defines us as people. And an amazing footstool it is too. Looking forward to testing its footstoolability whilst watching CSI later.
Mucho done in the garden of Shockprowl. To cut a long story short, we purchooseled this house from a very nice elderly couple, who, sadly, hadn't been able to keep up to the garden in recent years. Been a lot of catch up since we moved in. It's never ceased to amaze me just how much time it takes to do gardening type stuff! But you know what, Cyber-Chumbs? I'm REALLY enjoying it! The other night, whilst at work, I actually watched a bit of Gardener's World! AND I ENJOYED IT! I'm clearly growing as a person. Gardening has never been my thing, despite my love of nature and all that, but now, I'm getting right into it.
So, large bush- died. Mission: Remove dead bush and transplant 8 rose bushes into that space, and into other spaces. Mission: Successful. Very pleased, indeed. Piglet even got to use her new yellow spade for the first time. However, I now ache like a fat man whose been chased down a highway by a car with a coupla hard pipe hitting whatsanames in it.

Between my headache, and the lack of decent sleep I have had in the last couple of nights (one may be causative of the other, one way or t'other) I started out the day in a very downcast mood but seem to have overcompensated as I spent the afternoon in a much more "up" state - too much so I think. Although it was very productive it appears to have used up a lot of my remaining energy and I feel somewhat drained this evening.
My boss did point out that I am the only person in the team who hasn't had any time off more than a long weekend so far this year. Perhaps my colleagues have proven to have a little bit more commonsense than I do (it wouldn't be the first time). But never mind, I should be in a position to shut up shop a bit before five on Thursday, and have a bit of a lie-in on Friday morning. Then travelling, which I always enjoy , and banter and good company to go with it. Sounds like a recipe for a good way to end the week.

Into day 2 of 3 of 'inducation at work even though I am in my 6th month there and know what to do'. I swear I wanted to put a pen through my eye at one point. It's no-one's 'fault', just a quirk of the calender but gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

My mind is gone. Completely gone.
But holiday can at last begin. Dinner then shambling off to the local fleahouse for a deliberately bad movie choice: I just need something mindless right now. Then packing for the great excursion tomorrow.
