Me too. The pilot reported a 98mph headwind coming into Glasgow last night- we left London early and got in about on time. I thought "that can't be right- I must have misheard" but the BBC chaps this morning were warning of gusts up to 80mph, so... yeah.

The train he is now on is stopping for branch-clearing purposes.
Nick comes back to the UK. Storms begin. Co-incidence?

Yes.
Walk to Sainsburys and back very tiring. DOTM toys easily avoided due to mad price-points.

Did he bring you saudi tf tat? I have a splendid Tower of Pisa. Nick is on the move again back to Glasvegas. Tomorrow, he goes to London. Pretty knackered having company over. I think work will be a struggle tomorrow. I'm not 100%, but not ill enough to go so a doctor. -Ralph

Woke up feeling wretched, but had to go to work as the sick line ran out yesterday. By the time I got to the office I felt nauseous, light-headed, was very out of breath and it felt like I was looking at the world through a tunnel. So, feeling like a complete idiot I had to say hi and bye. Hopefully I can take today as annual leave without the usual notice.
Got bus back. Popped into GP surgery to see if any appts were available. There were none until Friday. I asked if I could sit and wait/any cancellations etc while still rather out of breath. Alas, I was spoken to in an extremely patronising tone as if I were a complete moron. I explained myself twice, only to then have the killer: "Are you new to this practice?" line and told me to phone at 8am to make a appt. Any attempt to explain that I was unable to travel back in time to 8am fell on deaf ears. At which point I had to give up as I was stuggling for breath and felt like the world was leaning to one side.
A thrilling day couch-piloting awaits.
I will now obviously have to go back tomorrow, fit or not, and am shitting myself due to possibility of whether I can get today as AL or not (otherwise it's an unauthorised day off with all the bad tidings that entails).

I was leaning on the counter so that I didn't fall over.
A 5 min jaunt to the bus stop and back to check bus times in the morning for work (I usually walk) has left me feeling knackered. This is just getting stupid now.

Ring the Doctors and make an appointment anyway. Explain your sick note has run out and you're not well enough to return to work
I'd also ring NHS direct for advice. I'm a little worried that the chicken pox could be full blown shingles.

Nick is on the move again back to Glasvegas. Tomorrow, he goes to London. You just can't make this up: Thousands face volcanic ash cloud flight cancellationsAirports likely to be affected from 1300 to 1900 BST include Londonderry, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Prestwick, Durham Tees Valley, Newcastle and Carlisle, air traffic services company Nats said.
European air traffic controllers said 252 flights had been cancelled so far. How was he intending to travel? Just his luck to turn up and the flight is cancelled..... or make the flight down and then get marooned in London.
