What's happening at the weekend? It's been a challenging week at work and I just need a breather. Also, I am off to see the parentals armed with the bag of tat from the April trip. -Ralph

Off to Birmingham tomorrow morning on a crazily last-minute organised jaunt to catch the Ramones with the ex-Misfits singer in the O2 Academy. Can't wait, thrilled to bits!

A hedgehog. Hurrah!
Saw a fox this afternoon when I was out for a walk. It darted across the path in front of me and hared off into the woods. Startled me a little and for a second I wondered why it had run as I was as suprised as it was. But then a woman walking a lurcher came around the corner and the mystery was solved. Clearly Mr Fox decided he didn't want to take the chance on a one-on-one with a dog that stood considerably taller than him and exercised the better part of valour.

Had to go hunting for a jacket today as current daily 'summer' one is getting threadbare after 4 years of useful service. All I needed was something not too heavy, with plenty of pockets, that doesn't turn into a sponge when raining*, that is functionally useful for work and can be worn outwith.
This simple quest proved unexpectedly challenging. Plenty of clothing shops sell only suit jackets. Or only fleeces. Or only wintery-type waterproof things. And plenty don't sell any type of jacket at all. Several hours of retail rage finally yielded a result: a jacket that fitted my needs. It was on sale so I bought both colours. May as well have a spare.
However, I did also procure a Thundercats T-Shirt...but most importantly of all: Masters of the Universe pyjamas!!!!
In other news Sparky the parental dog has successfully shifted the excess weight that was causing health issues and is now fine.
-Ralph *I have a nice light one procured from Oxfam a while ago but it isn't suited to wet weather nor the ravages of work.
