Oh no a podcast, is it written down anywhere? No it's a podcast. It works by listening to it. The legal chat starts about 11 minutes in. -Ralph

That was an interesting listen. I already knew the stuff about patent law (having been issued several patents myself) but it was interesting to have clarification on the other aspects.

MMC Lynx is friggin' gigantic. At the shoulder, he stands as tall as a deluxe. He's overall Leader equivalent, but twice as heavy (if not more) than modern leaders. But he comes in a box no bigger than MMC Thunderclash/Rodimus.

I also got MMC's MW Optimus Prime.
I was luke warm on this mold as Rodimus. I really liked it as Thunderclash, though. But I AM IN LOVE WITH MW OP!!!! They gave him G1 Op's iconic Ion Cannon, and I think a new head? Don't have TC nearby to compair, but this one seems far more Primey. But it's not just straight up Optimus' head either. It keeps in with MW OP being a repaint of a non-Optimus toy. As a result, it keeps all the fun of MWOP, while vibing Optimus a lot more strongly than the actual MWOP did.
It feels way more like a young "early war" Optronix/Orion Pax/new Optimus Prime than anything Hasbro has done.
I love him. He's exciting in a way actual transformers haven't been since the Unicron Trilogy. He feels like a classic, recognizable character updated in a completely new design, like Armada or GF Starscream.

Ah, another one falls to MW Prime's charms. As is only right...
And yes, that is a new head sculpt, but you're right, it's not a "standard" Optimus Prime head, it's a faceplate-less one that also manages to make him look much younger. (It also has the read forehead crest, as in Machine Wars, which is a very nice touch.) Coupled with the new colour scheme - which I also think works better than Thunder Clash's - it definitely gives him the impression of being much younger.
I think you've hit the nail on the head exactly - this is definitely Optimus Prime, but also definitely not as we've seen him before. More of this!

You know, the trend is to ignore normal scale, and focus almost exclusively on MP scale, and weirdly enough, Legends scale.
I would give anything for someone to do legends scaled GoBots.

Thanks for all the info there, CJ. Some interesting stuff. MP Skids/Savant looks nice, but I'd been hoping for a more toy accurate MP Skids.

Lots going on there. The Unicron head would make a nice centrepiece for the FT Movie figures. They've got enough of those done now that there's a display in its own right.
That Zeta Superion is magnificent. I'd have jumped on that by now I think if FT hadn't also shown some Aerialbots.

What about those machine robo? You mean those Action Toys figures (or whatever the line is called)? I'm collecting those. That has nothing to do with this.

Shockers, Mechanic Studio are doing a Gears to go with the Huffer. This would rock if it had a swappable toy face. Still, best looking legends Gears yet.

Ohhhh awesome. So love their Huffer. A Gears would be brilliant. And if they get 'round to a Brawn with the same aesthetic I'll be very happy.

So I got Badcube's Takara Gobot Road Ranger themed repaint of not-mp Huffer, called Captain Huffy. ( www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/79272 ) I already had another company's Road Ranger repaint of not-mp-huffer, that's in proper Road Ranger colors. But I'm a sucker for GoBots. So I got this guy, and as I was deciding where to put him, I realized he has a super grumpy frowny face, and two axes. He's black, with bright orange robot torso. This guy makes the most hilarious G2 Huffer imaginable. In G2, Huffer... has had... enough.

I was going to say he looks quite chesty, but compared to the G1 figure that's pretty spot on.

As I've spent the last two days Repoing PotP Predaking, I sit here getting the bug up my butt again that it is so frustrating that it's actually infuriating that absolutely none of these 3Ps have done anything with Combiner Wars!
I mean, as has been stated repeatedly, you'd think they'd be all over it? Are they pissy that Hasbro started making Classic scale combiners? Just... Starscream alone, they could run that mold no less than three times as is (add a dozen more for rainmakers, slipstream, and lots of others), and with retools add three+ more. The Datsun gives them three more, with Bluestreak alone having three distinct decoes to pimp. Sideswipe has five redecoes.
