I hope it wasn't the playing with The Ark that did it. He sat there Transforming it for ages!

In other news, on passing the office I quit last year around this time last year (see week 28), I saw that it had been gutted: everything gone including the phone. I guess they didn't get the new contract after all. Strangely, I actually felt quite physically queasy when I saw the dead office. No idea why.

Sorry, chaps, but I can't stand it! It is the opposite of my cup of tea, alas. Don't hurt me! Be a dull world, and our media lot more limited, if we all liked the same stuff anyways. Took some time out this lunchtime to watch the NASA footage of the Atlantis landing. I've lived a lot of my life with her and her class as a fixture of my experience. There was something that I felt in my gut watching the nosewheel come down for the last time. A real sense of an era passing, perhaps forever. (I'd like to think not). Apart from that my morning and early afternoon went very well indeed, until late afternoon when things began to go rather poorly.... I guess that things were just going too well really. Hope Johnathan feels better soon Phil. Karl

- Moving on Saturday. Have learned interwebs won't be set up there until 4th August at the least. Woe. See you on the flipside. -Ralph

More heavy rain battering against the windows. So...May-July mostly miserable weather-wise. Has Summer been cancelled?

In our family we share.
Jonathan has shared his bug with Liz and me. I'm projecting for a wedding rehersal tonight, the wedding tomorrow, Liz is signing Sunday, I've got parcels to go and am due to have a CT scan first thing Tuesday.
Secret of comedy: Timing.

It appears various things have all caught up with me at once this afternoon. I was planning a trip to the Oxfam shop in Edinburgh that has the big comic sale this evening after work. By about 3pm I was absolutely wiped out and I have come home forthwith instead. I think an evening of couch piloting with some watchables is in the offing for me.

Been busy decluttering. It's taken a while but... actually it still seems cluttered. Still things are more organised now with the unwanted pile greatly reduced thanks to some giveaways.
One thing I do have a lot of are DVD cases. Does anyone know if they can be recycled?

And now the bulb on the church projector has failed. The night before the wedding. We have no replacement bulb. Definitely timing.

Mestor and his evil horde of gastropods have attempts to invade my house. War has begun! "Whether you like it or not!" Completely exhausted. Made it to the Oxfam comics sale after work through sheer inertia. Usually walkable distance but I was too knackered and got the bus there and back. Almost lost my mind at the amazing amount of stuff, but could not linger long due to combination of fatigue/overcrowding/heat but did find some nice stuff before I had to bail. Now buzzing on pepsi-induced caffeine. I expect my system to crash very shortly! -Ralph

Had fun with an HD camera yesterday and an 8 grand lens. Will get to do a bit more when the insurance is sorted. Not a proper shoot, just doing a few shots.

restricted diet day 1, ahead of Tuesday's CT scan, and I've realised there's a packet of doughnuts in the cupboard I probably can't eat now. D'OH(nuts)

Ah, now that was a good way to spend the weekend.
Out at 7am on Saturday morning to start my journey to North Berwick for the Airshow. As ever it was a fantastic day - the weather was absolutely perfect (and I was properly prepared with sun-tan lotion this time. Whilst there had been some changes to the program that I didn't know about, they were perhaps for the better - so no Blades, but we did get a replica DH-2 (a pusher biplane which was Britain's very first single seat fighter) and a UH-1 Iroquois (pretty much the only thing that actually sounds like a generation of movie sound-editors have told us a helicopter sounds like), in fact there was a bit of a Vietnam War era sub-theme to some of the afternoon displays, with an A-1 Skyraider, OV-10 Bronco and the aforementioned UH-1.
In aural respects a slightly more sedate show than Waddington - but visually there is little to beat the grace and precision of aerobatics from piston-engined aircraft - although Miss Demeanour, the most photogenic Hunter, and possibly most photogenic single seat jet, flying anywhere certainly knows how to bring the noise.
Had a good chat with a guy from the Scottish Aviation Preservation Society too, and checked on the progress of the replica biplane that they are building from scratch currently - fascinating to see it take shape from year to year.
Today I went for my regular walk to check up on the cygnets along the canal - five healthy and growing cygnets this year, which is lovely to see - and then spent the rest of the day in the garden with my book.
Hard pressed to think of a better way to spend the weekend in honesty.

Much fun at the Edinburger Oxfam Comics Event on Saturday. Despite having acquired a mighty comics haul at their sale the night before, I lost my mind again. Some good comics were procured, some terrible comics too. Then did Turn and Burn efficiently do some work on a piece for this year's Cybertronian Times. Then the traditional vodka + viewing of tat session. Oh, Voltron Force. It actually started well, shockingly, then hit a wall with episode 2 and turned to manure. I have, however, now finally seen House of Cards. It was very, very good.
Today, picked up some t-shirts and resisted buying many shiny things. Frugal mode re-engaged until AA!
