HLJ Devastator re-issue pre-order cancelled by me. Increasingly over the year I have felt I am pretty much done with Transformers as a regular purchase. I'm much more happy with it being an occasional thing with some madness at conventions. It was costing too much money and taking up too much space relative to what I was getting out of the hobby. Been scaling back for a while now and hope to have another clearout before the end of the year.

Karla, good to see you back again! Sorry to hear that you haven't been well but glad to hear that you are feeling better.
I have now finished work for my mandatory two weeks holiday. As expected the last two days where a madcap race for the line. I feel so much better knowing that I am done for two whole weeks. The last stretch of peaceful time off I had was probably Christmas ( Auto Assembly doesn't count - it was great fun but it was an adrenalin rush rather than an opportunity to step out and recharge the batteries) so I am quite looking forward to a stretch where I don't have to tear around like a loonie.... Some time visiting the family beckons, and the travelling to and from there is likely to give me a chance to catch up on my reading all being well.
What I shall do with the other days of my holuday is a bit up in the air at the moment - but it is nice not to have nor need a plan for once...

wonder if I'll win £20 tonight to keep the pattern going?

Had a mystery package left at the door last night. It was a promotional t-shirt for the God of War: Ghost of Sparta PS3 game. No clue where it came from, no address or anything.

Some more disturbance last night from arses in the next building, which sobered me up double-quick. I could hear it even though I had headphones on.
But the ZARDOZ DVD is here!

Team night out tonight, few drinks will flow.
So a lazy afternoon, as I will be out single and mingling tonight I do believe I will be deploying my Transformers boxer shorts.

For true sartorial elegance, you should wear your Transformers lounge pants over your Transformers boxer shorts.
In other news, Jack Kirby Captain America boxer shorts lie in my near future. ASDA sells them!!!

Woo!
Lounge pants have shrunk in the wash, alright for loafing around Turnbull Towers. No good for wandering around outside in.

That saddens my heart. Mine shrank too. They now display the Burns Boabie a bit too much.

Back to work tomorrow after a week and a bit off. Not looking forward to having to ask for another half-day off so the replacement cooker for the one that blew up can be delivered as it couldn't be sorted in time last week when I was off. Eeek.

First two days of my holiday under my belt. Saturday was mostly spent doing some running about sorting things out around the house that needed to be squared away. This morning I slept in until half-nine, which was surprising but enjoyable. Got up for a late brunch - sausage sandwhich and then realised that I needed to go out and get some light bulbs and some socks. The thing was I also wanted a proper walk. I decided to combine the two and wandered up and along the canal for an hour or so to Polmont, where there is a Tesco by the canal. I did my shopping, had a hot chocolate and a caramel shortbread in their mezzanine coffee-shop and then wandered back along the canal.
On the way home I had the strange sensation of being watched, and then realised that there was a heron on the far bank sitting their with its head tucked onto its body giving me a very judgemental look (Heron's are one of those birds that have the ability to give you a look that really makes you feel like you come from the wrong social class to be talking to them.) I left the Heron to it after a while and wandered back home through the Tunnel of Mild Peril (it has never been the same since they had the temerity to light it).
Haven't achieved a great deal, but it has still felt like a very good way to begin my holiday. Time to listen to some more Doctor Who episode commentary whilst I finish my glass of wine I think....
