Likewise Phil.
Best of luck with the online dating. A few folks I know have been at me to start on it as well.

Currently going out of my mind. Had to take day off for cooker delivery as I was told it would be between 7am-7pm. So got up at 6:30am to be ready. Received voicemail saying it would now be coming between 9am-1pm. It's 1:21pm. My rage is rising by the minute. I had vital stuff to catch up on at work and really needed to be in today and it's not a proper day off as I can't watch/listen to anything in case I miss hearing the fecking buzzer or phone! Or enjoy a decent fecking walk!
Also, I am very hungry but have had to miss lunch as I am stuck in. There's also some constipation. FFS!

Walked into town today to get the new TF Prime magazine (about 45 mins to walk there) and looked around the town for any job vacancies, no luck however..oh well, at least I got my magazine. Was actually expecting the new TFCC magazine to have arrived whilst I was out since it's about that time of the month, but no avail...maybe tomorrow?

Cooker finally turned up at 2:30pm. It is not 'like for like'. It does not have a grill. It is not a fan oven. The last own had both these amazing featured. And it wasn't even wired in, like I asked for, after waiting since 7am.
Why am I paying higher rent, exactly?
Fuck it. I'm going out. Phoned up the letting agency and told them to sort it.

what use is a grill anyway these day? Modern ones seem to have the cooking power of a low energy lightbulb. When I was a lad we had proper grills that could carbonise bread in seconds.

I did a bit of the online dating around 2006/7 when I felt a void in my life, until I realised I was getting bored out of my mind with my job. Changed jobs, felt no need to continue the online dating. But it was a fun enough diversion for a bit and I _think_ I went on seven dates with five different women if I remember correctly. Well, had seven meet-ups anyway. Didn't really click with any of them. But the upshot was I eventually figured out I was trying to fix the wrong bit of my life.
May revisit it one day, but too much going on with mum's health to think about such potential life complications at the mo.
Edit: Oh, I deeply sympathise with the cooker delivery thing. I've had two no-shows from my plumber to fix my radiators in the last month, and on both occasions no-one picking up at the end of the phone to tell me if they'd decided not to bother coming. On both occasions they gave me plausible excuses the following day. Next Wednesday afternoon will be their last chance.
Some professions really have no respect for the inconvenience caused to their customers' own professional lives and are far too laid-back about meeting appointments they have made.

Highlander 5 is on iPlayer. It's causing me pain to watch this sober.

Fair play and all the best to anyone signing up to online dating. Of course it is one of many avenues for meeting people or possible soulmates. I can personally testify a person can meet their other half in the most unexpected of places (*cough* TMUK... . Have a good weekend all. ===KEN

Week 41 was blue sky without a cloud in it yesterday. It _began_ grey and windy, I'll grant you.
The streets of Cardiff are strangely quiet this morning.
(Yes, I do know why.)

Laptop died. Away for a week of expensive repairs. Luckily, Andu had a spare desktop lying around and kindly sorted me out. If laptop can be repaired it will serve as additional storage and the like. I just hope I have not lost all my music files and personal stuff.
Saturday was a bad day. The drip drip drip of recent 'things' got on top of me a bit and had a bit of a mini meltdown. Feeling a bit better now if a bit tired.
Nice weather in the Burger today!

The Burger was indeed pleasant today. Marred only by Sainsbury's staff refusing to sell me a Transformers Prime sticker album.

Indeed. I had to persuade 2 staff via a protracted exchange to buy one from there the other day.

I return to Toys'r'us active service on Wednesday. After two months climbing the walls at home I'm actually looking forward to it. My own desktop PC is on the blink as documented elsewhere so a replacement PSU is due to arrive tomorrow. If it turns out the PSU isn't the problem, I'm going to be rather annoyed, not to mention down 50 quid and sitting on a bricked PC.

The machine said no.
I had the same problem earlier in the week. It took some arguing to be able to buy one.

I had a similar incident 3 months ago with a Hello Kitty clip-on plushie. The staff said it wasn't on the system, refused to sell me it and furthermore the supervisor walked away when I enquired why they had the plushies on display to start with.
