It has been absolutely bucketing down so far today - enough rain that the trains are starting to creak and I wait with baited breath to see if I will be able to get home by train this evening or whether I will have to shell out for a bus fare and wend my way home by road...

Popped in to a shopping centre on my lunchbreak and it was absolutely heaving with Christmas consumer hordes doing the distinctive Christmas Shopper Shuffle. Very unpleasant. Glad I have already got that madness out the way.

It seems to have temporarily dried up a bit - at least enough that the train services were back to their normal selves this afternoon, which was a relief. Of course that will only last until we get the next lot of heavy rain, at which point it will all go a little bit Pete Tong again..

Wednesday is a long and busy day involving an early start, a 6 hour child care stint and projecting at church in the evening. So naturally tonight I'm in pain, can't settle and can't sleep :-(

Helped out at the pre-school today. Somebody made a bad decision to steal the Christmas decorations, so I stepped in helped replace everything from my mass horde of quality Christmas tat
Will possibly get to the bottom of the theft. Stealing from Kids and messing with Christmas are a big no-no with me and it may come to "boots to asses" time if I ever get hold of the culprit. More importantly the kids have got to still have the tree trimming activity.

Good natured protests in Edinburger today. I gave them a few cheers. One of the buildings where I work was almost empty today, but in another building my team was at almost full strength. Between the two, I got a great deal of work done. A few close colleagues who are union members were outside the first building and seemed in good spirits. I find that my non-recyclable rubbish has been collected but my recyclables have not. The local park gates were not unchained and the buses were not running. Far more cars evident as a result, and children at large in the city centre. Martin

I saw a grand total of five pickets behind the Sherrif Court in Falkirk this morning(the car park is there), and that was about all. I was the wrong side of Edinburgh to see the large-scale march that I hear took place. I wish them well in their endeavour though.

The chap with the 'DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING' banner will forever be my hero! -Ralph That is one of the best protest signs ever - almost infinitely reuseable it is just such an efficient use of resources. He is to be applauded. Karl

I saw a grand total of five pickets behind the Sherrif Court in Falkirk this morning(the car park is there), and that was about all. Apparently the law only allows six people on a picket line these days. It rather limits the intimidation factor. Though I suppose it depends on who those six are. The chap with the 'DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING' banner will forever be my hero! I was unaware of this rennaissance man, but he is now my hero too. Martin

Just a couple things left to get for Xmas now, also sorted out my calender for next year (a TF one), my copy of DOTM and ordered a copy of the Chaos Theory TPB, and pre-ordered the current IDW series' issue 32 (Death of Optimus Prime) and #2 of MTMTE and RID for February
Though annoyingly the TFCC's site is playing up for me for some reason and I'm having issues with renewing my membership, sent a message to them though so I should hear back by this evening or something.
