were there presents for you this morning?
I had a nice pile of railway & cricket books plus the character building Dalek Factory (which I may have nicked a bit out of months ago while Liz wasn't looking)

A completely unexpected rebate from the taxman from 2007/2008, which will be used to purchase an Ipad2 when Andu is free*.

*I am clueless about buying/working out how to use such things so require a chaparone

Hooray! That's great news Ralph! I'm apparently due a rebate myself come the end of March, on account of being on "emergency tax" since I went abroad. I got a Nivea giftset, a book on 1001 video games to play before you die and a Lego Battle of Endor set, that I've just finished putting together. Wait- I bought the Lego set myself a month ago and only opened it today. ... I got a book and some deodorant -Nick

Not a huge amount as family issues and all that mean I am not all that popular.
However, Christmas day was spent with my good friends the Wotherspoon's. I was Brian's best man and I introduced him to his wife Maree. Their wee girl Molly has never warmed to me in the just shy of two years she has been on this earth. This year's christmas present to her a big singing/dancing Mickey Mouse sorted that out and we became fast friends. There were high-fives and some book reading.
That was a good xmas present, coupled with spending time with such good friends.
I hope everyone had a similarly joyful day.

I always feel a bit guilty when I bitch about my job, knowing your career and what happens in that, coupled with some of the tribulations that have occurred in the last few years. I know it's only money but it's nice to get it and know you can put it to good use and honestly couldn't happen to a nicer fellow. I feel privileged to call you my friend Merry Christmas. Andy

However, Christmas day was spent with my good friends the Wotherspoon's. I misread that and thought you were sitting in a Wetherspoon's all day!

Also got some cash from the parentals. Used it to buy my weight in Star Wars LEGO. Before I have had chance to cash the cheque. Silly Ralph.

Well, Santa's bringing me and Mrs Shockers new carpets in the sales. But other than that I got a marvelous collection of chocs, booze, and some VERY comfortable super hero lounge pants! Ahhhhh, I feel so free in them!

I received a number of useful devices on Christmas day - an electric blanket and some fudge from my mother and her husband, and from my sister I received a tartan towel (Black Watch Tartan) and a small bottle of a welsh whiskey liquer.
Karl (The electric blanket was hard to pack into my bag to bring back up north. When I had been told that it would only be small presents this year I was clearly thinking of a slightly different definition of small...)
