Phil is working on his Constructicon reviews and an interesting point has come up that I'd like some input on. As we know the Constructicons were recoloured in G2 first replacing the pale green with yellow, then with orange. But throughout this the original shade of purple used on the toys stays the same. And I don't think it works with either colour. What colour would you have changed these parts to?

The G2 Constructicons have a darker, more blue shade of purple than their predecessors, don't they?

I believe one was the G1 shade, the other the G2 shade, but I never had them all together to check.

I'd have went for a bright pink myself, or the pink of Botcon Pyro.

The only G2 Constructicons I remember seeing were the yellow ones. Didn't see the orange ones until relatively recently. On that score I would have changed nothing. The main colours have already changed, the trim colours I would leave as they are.

No we are being sensible.
You are asking what colour a G2 toy should be. We are talking about colour schemes in keeping with G2.
There is no such thing as an "insane 90s g2 head".

I'm thinking sensibly. Most of the rest of you have their "Insane 90s G2" heads on! It depends on your perspective. Most of the G2 toys had one or two super wow colours, contrasted by a more standard, usually darker colour. If the yellow is considered the crazy colour then the secondary colour should be a black, dark blue, purple. The thing is yellow construction vehicles really isnt that crazy so that makes the secondary colour the loony one. Pink does rather work in that way. Also a really bright green. But it would need a dark colour still. Personally I'd go with Yellow. Then one of the Predator pastel shade type colours and then Black for heads, individual limbs, and some of the combiner parts. But then I wish Rescue force had followed the Turbomaster blueprint. So I'm just transferring that want really.

A tartan of some sort. I shall bow to my more knowledgeable Scottish friends as to which would be most suitable.

A tartan of some sort. I shall bow to my more knowledgeable Scottish friends as to which would be most suitable. I'm not sure that the various made-up rules about whom can wear what tartan (much of the folderol that surrounds it has been invented to sell stuff to tourists) have to say about alien robots from another planet.... They are going to have a hard time establishing their descent from any clan of Highland Scots.... :- ) I suppose if they joined a group of Scouts or Venturers they could lay claim to the Scout Tartan... :-). Wasn't there a set where the main body was purple & also different green? Or they could have been knockoff photos.

Are you advocating releasing the above mentioned figures, or deleting them from history?
