It's a few days worth of putting it in.

Indeed, if the ears are that compacted then it will take a lot for it to start to shift. Mine haven't been that bad for a few years, but when they were it was a twice daily ritual for about four days before I started to notice any difference.
Never used Almond Oil myself. My go-to solvent has always been warmed Olive Oil.

My partner's surname at work is Almond...
So this is very disturbing to me.....
(He's actually as sound as a pound. I imagine his oil would be, well, beneficial yet sticky.....)
Hope it works anywho, Doc'! What the freak is wrong with your GP?!?!

Hope it works anywho, Doc'! What the freak is wrong with your GP?!?! My Gp is excellent, but of the two practice nurses who do things like ear syringing one of them is off sick so appointments are limited. So I have to wait another week as a result. No one to blame. It really is just one of those unfortunate things. If the blockage can soften up in the meantime it would be bearable until the mighty deed is done. At least it is now a dull thudding rather than searing pain and I am learning to compensate. At the weekend I often wanted to punch a wall. Amazing how relatively minor ailments can knock us for six sometimes. -Ralph

Evening.
Just put the finishing touches to ATAP and orders are away to Lulu to send them to Turnbull Towers ahead of Scotcon.

So yes, minor ailments can be... well, not minor (I couldn't walk for nearly 2 weeks!). Glad your GPness is doing their best though, Doc'. I was under the impression that all that could be done was not being doing (knowing the system as I do---- although my own GP has historically been very good, I have anecdotal, professional, and personal evidence against the larger 'Medical Machine'). Anyway, hope you feel better soon, Cyber Chumb.

Progress is being made on the library. I've hoovered up a ton of brick dust but keep finding more. I've got the new shelving unit up and it's become home to all my Essentials. I'll count them tomorrow.
I've also been to town: very close call with a parking warden means I'll be revising where the disabled badge can be used. Lunch out at a local Indian: they do a six pound lunch buffet but the machinery to keep it warm had failed so we got theirs off the menu. I then did the afternoon school run to let Liz sleep/work.
The down side is that means I've had quite a physical day and am paying for it tonight!

Some of the ear pain has lessened but discomfort from the pressure remains. It is at least more bearable now though it saps my energy somewhat. I'm not taking sick days for bloody ear wax though so must plough on. Roll on Monday and the magic ear syringe!

Hooray for the magic ear syringe!
I had some problems with the dust separator today. It was leaking air from somewhere or, more likely, several somewheres. It's fine now after a bit of jiggery-pokery.

Yes, but can it transform?
Try not to feel to glum, Phil. I guess it's a big (and visually) sudden/disturbing change but if it helps then I hope that can be a good thing (even if you don't have to like it or what it represents).

I hope it can TF because the reason we're getting it is to go in the back of the car for when I have trouble when I'm out. When I'm tired and when there's crouds are getting to be problems.
I've tried one when out a few times - twice on forum trips actually - and haven't been 100% comfortable with it

I'm expecting to see some sort of Powermaster Phil on the news at some point when danger strikes on the mean streets of southern England. No need to go Apex though!

During my stay in hospital they gave me olive oil to moisturise my scalp.
First day at work yesterday - took a half day - few hours to work today - attempting that from home. About half way through. Energy levels generally low (three types of anti-histamine do make me very tired)
Of course planning weekend in Lisbon with Ali this weekend - so might test those energy levels.
Phil - hopefully the chair will work out for you and I won't mention Chip Chase (oh dear, just did!) - take care when wheeling around!

Good that you are out of hospital at least now, Marc.
I'm still getting my energy levels back up to normal after two weeks of a flu-like bug. Two people in my lab are now off with the same thing. At least it wasn't just in my head like I'd been considering!!

Got the new specs and the lenses are noticeably much thicker, which has darkened my thoughts somewhat. May take a while to get my self-confidence back up again. Feel like I am wearing milk bottles again. Freaked out a bit in the store as the stronger prescription hit me and the reality of eyesight getting worse. I got the impression the lass serving me didn't give a toss.

You inspired me to go have an eyetest as I've not had one for 3 years, though thankfully my eyes are unchanged, albeit still at a very high prescription (9.5ish each, I think). Last time I checked, laser eye surgery would cost about 7k, so uh, no. Did you have the very thinnest lenses available? I fork out for that, which is why they are so ridiculously expensive (I found the bill for my last pair, around £350!)
