To be honest I'm not sure having gotten rid of my box a while ago. If the instruction booklet has Sonokong or Senokong written on it then it's the Korean version.

I am only seeing: 2000 transformer production company inc./ takara co.,ltd.
Not sure if a licensed product to another company would still have that info on the box and instruction sheet.

Then I think you have the Japanese version. But I'd wait until one of the other Brave Max owners pipes up just to be sure!

I'm not a Brave Maximus owner, but I have owned a fair number of things from Sonokong - a load of TF's and Zoids over the years - the Sonokong stuff tended to carry both Takara and Sonokong copyrights and logos, usually fairly close together. If it only has the Takara Logo on it then the probability is that is a Takara one.

That looks like the box mine came in, which was the Korean release.

It does look like the Japanese version there, Hippobot. One other thing to check is if the Autobot logo on the tower when he's in city/battle station mode is upside down or not. I think the Korean version had it placed on upside down.

Thanks for the replies guys.
There is no Sonokong logo anywhere on the box or instruction book, and the autobot sticker is the correct way round on the tower.

Congrats, Colin! You've got a Japanese one. I had to peel my one's sticker off with a knife and a steady hand then super-glue it back on the right way up.

I have lost one of the red missiles off of my Fire Convoy toy.
If I were to track one down on eBay or the like, would it be okay to get a RiD Optimus Prime one? Are the colours the same?

I believe Fire Convoy has sparkly red plastic and silvery-grey, whilst Prime has matte red and grey. Not sure if the missiles were the same or different. On that note, has anyone got any spare tyres for RiD Prime? Mine have split

I imagine the missiles would have been cast from the same red plastic as the main toy, so I think I'll try to get the SFC missiles. I feel your pain, brother Blueshift; the tyres on my Clear Car Robot Brothers have split.

It's sunlight that causes the perishment isn't it? I haven't seen either of my firetruck Primes in years as they are boxed in my parents garage.

At least the sets I have are quite different. The CR ones are in the bag, the red is brighter (less maroon) and maybe a little sparkly. The moulds are different as well at the bottom. I don't know if the mould is always different CR to RID ther could have been a change during either of the production runs. Andy

I'd like to try and find a Brave Maximus.
But what colour KO hand guns should I get ?
Red ? Blue ? Black ?

Go for red. Though I would try to get the KO Master Sword. It's good quality and once I had one I lost the urge for guns.

Oooh, ta. Howmany colours were the KO guns done in ? I'm tempted towards red too Ralph, but I believe that *isn't* the correct colour! And if anyone can put me in touch with a supplier for said KO hand guns.
Ralph: My Brave Maximus dealer is sorting me out a sword. He has been sent a pic of the Sword that's in the Brave Max prize box to attempt to match.

I've voted red.
Brave Maximus's other (official) guns are red, so it make for a nice continuity.

Ah but Fort's built in weapons are red and his hand guns are blue.
Vice Versa for Grand.....

Oh yeah. Now that's something I never noticed before!
So is "Cerebros's" gun from the same plastic as the built-in guns on "Fortress Maximus" in all cases, then?

I'm new to the forum and have joined to get more knowledge so I can help my son with his collection. He absolutely loves transformers and his last Christmas list contained generation 1 toys, which we found hard to get, we have recently purchased Skullcruncher and Metroplex and have now been offered Fortress Maximus in what has been described as a UK 1999 version, different colours to the G1 version but pretty much mint condition with all the accessories and box. The asking price is £300, is this a good price for a toy that is only 11/12 years old, I would prefer a G1 model but I think they go for a bit more than £300?
Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave. Welcome to the forum. The Fortress Maximus you describe is it this one - tfu.info/2000/Cybertron/BraveMaximus/fortressmaximus.htmAnything between 200-350 for him seems to be the going rate. One point to mention is that it does not have all of the same accessories as the original Fortress Maximus. The original one in good condition with all the accessories does indeed go for a few hundred pounds more than the newest version. Andy
