So Hasbro are reducing their involvement with The Hub and Discovery are going to rename it.
I still think of the forum as "The Hub" and us as Hubbers... Probably as I joined originally in 2001ish. Do you?? Or are you new enough/old enough to be a TMUKer?

Old enough to be a TMUKer, but this is The Hub.

This is The Hub. I am a Hubber. We're all Hubbers. But I like Transmasters UK as well. But I think 'Hub'.
Unfortunately, no one can be told what The Hub is... You have to see it for yourself.

Another Hasbro foot-in-mouth there after all the fuss around the name....
Does this mean we can re-name this place The Hub officially?
I'm old enough to be a TMUKer.

I think that my TMUK enlistment may predate this forums grandparental incarnation. (Also, I suspect I was one of the last TMUK members to emigrate over from the egroups - but then, I remember the days when the internet was mostly text, and Gopher was a SOTA data-retrieval method so I tend to be a relatively late adopter of new technological innovations). To me this places various incarnations have always been t'Hub (usually pronounced "the Hub", but "thub" on occasion as well. :-) ), no matter what its official name happens to be at any given time. That said, I would tend to describe myself as a TMUK member - it just so happens that the membership hapoens to hang out on the webforum I call t'Hub.
Does that actually make sense? No, probably not - why should I start making sense now after all these years...

Who's in charge since G retired? The Godmod team of me, Phil and Martin, it's been us since this latest version as G was one of the Four who rule. Ralph has Godmod powers too, but hasn't been about much of late. Andy

The real old timers did it via snail mail The TMUK eGroup came into existence in 1998 set up by I think Chris White. The TMUK Chat eGroup followed in September that year. The earliest message from me I can find on either is 10th Feb, 2000 The first reference to the Hub I can find is 11th Feb 2001 The forum was announced in this post from Garry on April 3rd the same year: IIRC this is the third, and longest lasting, iteration of the forum.

This forum is almost 8 years old I think.
I was an avid snail-mailer back in the day.

The forum is 7 years old on 2nd November. The first post would appear to be This one by the Chunder MonkeyLittle known facts about the forum: 1) You don't need the name of the thread in the URL 2) All the threads are numbered sequentially in the URL Hence it's easy to pull up thread 1 and other early threads many of which, started by Burns, are still in use today.

To find out *the* question, I tried thread 42 and wasn't disappointed by the title that came up.

I think I was at the start, but didn't post. Mainly posted on the TMUK e-mail group if anything. Was new to the whole forums thing at the time.

I stumbled across the forum first and then joined the yahoo Group.
Which still exists, albeit with little activity.

I honestly cant remember. I dont think I was registered on the hub prior to... 2005 or 2006, but was on the yahoo group before that so possibly did join an earlier version of the hub. As I was only lurking till 05/06 it doesnt matter much.

A-ha.
April 1st 2003 - request to join the chat group.
It was the very first thing I did with my then brand new email account.
But I was probably lurking earlier or maybe signed up under a long lost email address. Remember the days when hotmail would shut down accounts if they weren't used for 30 days. Urghh!!

I was on the yahoo group in 2000 having found it via the old Transformers Galaxy website. Good times.
