We like 'Tops' and the like, don't we?
Well I've been sitting on this concept for a while now. My top toys that I own or have owned EVER.
God Mods, please Mod my ass anyway you want if necessary, I thought this was more 'General' as it covers all and any toys.
Basically though, Cyber-chaps, this is your top toys that you own or have owned. Which toys would you take to a desert island with you?
Top 5 or top 10 or whatever.

Good question.
Gears as my pocket sized favourite.
My Stitch teddy dressed as a Reindeer that plays Jingle Bells (if I ever find the battery to replace it) would be a must at this time of year.

Robo Force Command Patroller.
It's better than it looks in the ad. The "secret chambers" were air locks in the instructions, which I loved because I had so many books on space and space travel as a kid. There's also a rear door that reveals the surprisingly large internal space that figures can access from the two air locks as well.
Er... it's not much cop without a few Robo Force figures to interact with it, obviously.

It's a nostalgic mind warp this one and I've been back and forth over my list for months. I think I've achieved a healthly mix of nostalgia and current loves.
10. Modern Star Wars AT-AT. I love bases, and this is a base on legs. It's bloody huge for God's sake! Hours of fun. With or without Moshlings.
9. Enemy Amoung Us 6" Superman. I have found it so hard to find a really perfect 6" Superman over the years! Anyoe else had this problem? This figure is a great looking Superman. Somewhat lean and not alittle pissed off looking. There are times when you need a Superman on display. And this figure does it. He looks like he's just about to kick Darkseid's ass.
8. Marvel Legends Sentry Custom no1. Now don't groan my missguided Cyber-pals. I love The Sentry, and this custom figure captures the modern Sentry perfectly. Right outa Dark Avengers. Wish I could remember the name of the magnificent American customiser who made it.
7. G1 Prowl. Only number 7 I know, but this is a tough list. I've owned many versions over the years. I still have them all. Even the first ones that are falling apart due to over use. This figure was the nexus of my childhood. Getting it as a child was a wonderfilled moment I'll never forget.
6. Maketoys Green Giant. I've wondered lately if TFC Hercules is the better figure. But a huge fully transforming 'Classics' Devastator? It's a dream come true. Devastator is the first and best combiner.
5. Cardboard Action Force HQ base. In many ways improves on the magnificent cardboard Death Star. I love bases. Have a Cobra army attack and you're in heaven, baby.
4. Transfomers Masterpiece Soundwave and original cassettes. Slight cheat as there are 6 toys here, but you could argue they're really a set. As a child I'd have loved this 'set' in G1. Now as an 'adult' I have the set in super styled MP goodness.
3. Transformers Masterpiece.......
PROWL! Only number 3! I know. But it's tough at the top. This figure really is a dream come true.
2. Quakewave. Masterpiece Shockwave. Just incredible. No words to describe the greatness of this figure. The perfect Shockwave.
1. CARDBOARD DEATH STAR.
Hours and hours of bliss. Now and back then. You need some figures like, to make it work (obviously). But a squad of Imperials and a Han & Luke, and off you go. If you get chance to have an army of Jabba's Skiff Guards invade, then so much the better. Avengers or Cobra are more than welcome to have a cross-over. No Moshlings though please.....

Been kicking this around in my mind for the last week and am still kicking. It's really odd trying to think back through everything you've ever owned and how important/significant it was at the time and is now. I'm coming up with odd lists and looking at them thinking, really? can you justify that? surely there's something more profound you can include in a top ten than *that*?
What's getting me is trying to think of what, if anything, I owned and loved before Star Wars figures absorbed my young pre-transforming life.
Oh! f*ck! I've just thought of something else!
I'll get there with this. I will.

I've spent months and MONTHS on my list (I thought I was happy with it... but regret missing out the Imperial Hoth Attack Base in the top ten....). But in the end I went for the ballance between new and nostslgia.

Anyone would think you like dinosaurs, CJ! ;-)
Which Falcon, Stom'? Original or modern? Also, good choice on MASK Rhino. That was a great toy.

I don't think this list is right. I have owned and played with toys all my life and looking at this I'm convinced there must be stuff I've forgotten. However, here's a list of my top non-Transformer toys. Palitoy Talking Dalek (Red)I first really got into Doctor Who in 1979 when I saw Destiny of the Daleks and then started reading Doctor Who Weekly. At that point toys were few and far between for the show. There was nothing. I think the Denys Fisher dolls had been and gone, but one Christmas around then I was given one of these. I still have it. I'm not entirely sure the mechanics work (I've got a Talking K9 that does work I also got around the same time) but it was my first Doctor Who toy. I was fascinated by the fact that it spoke using a tiny record in the base. Cardboard Death Star & AT-AT Star Wars toys were my life before Transformers and these two were the pinnacles of my collection. I loved the Death Star because of the playability it offered - the working trash compactor with chute still lives in my mind. I also loved this because no one would ever believe me that it actually existed. Those playground collection comparison conversations; I never had the Falcon, but I did have this, and I don't know why no one ever believed me. The AT-AT was an unbelievable toy. I really wish I still had it. I know if I did though the flood gates would open and I'd be paying stupid money for Star Wars toys as well as Transformers. This was huge. Because I don't have it now it still exists in my eyes the way it did when I was 8. A perfect reproduction of the best vehicle from the best space opera film ever made. Whether it actually is or not doesn't matter. There had BETTER be AT-ATs in The Force Awakens. I also loved the AT-ST toy, and had one of those, and if I was making a top five of Star Wars toys alone I'd also throw in the Imperial Troop Transporter (total squee moment when I saw that in Rebels) and also Luke's Landspeeder. Neca ED-209I've talked about this elsewhere, but it hasn't been off my desk since I bought it. I would love the Hot Toys version, but not at the price, so the Neca version will do for me. ED-209 is about as iconic as you can get for an 80s style bipedal attack robot. I loved the design when I first saw Robocop, and to me it's as significant as Geiger's Alien. The 1980s had the best sci fi, and this was among the best of the best. Art Asylum Iron Maiden 18" Somewhere In Time EddieI am a huge Iron Maiden fan, paid up fan club member, the lot. It took a long, long time for someone to start producing figures of the band's mascot Eddie, and over the last decade or so there have been a few good 6" ones. However there have also been two 18" ones, and this one is just awesome to look at. His articulation is crap to be fair, but the detail is fantastic, and he will stand quite happily in the Somewhere In Time album cover pose. Kotobukiya Front Mission 3 MechsIf there were more hours in the day I think I'd be far more into Japanese Mecha than I am. I love the designs, and have watched a fair bit of Mecha anime, but lack the time to really get my head round it. However I love the Front Mission games, FM3 particularly, and these figures are fantastic 6" replicas of the Mechs in the game. Doubly good is that the limbs are interchangeable (I'm pretty sure they are, I never tried with mine), as they are in the game, so when the original five toys got at least three repaints each, it offered a wealth of customising options.

Fascinating list Pinwig. Some things on there I've never heard of! But I'm right with you on the Cardboard Death Star! Mine's has plenty of play-wear these days, but it still brings me hours of fun.
Who else owned one? And did anyone else ever have the Action Force cardboard base?

Gah. Knew I'd forget some important stuff. Zoidzilla should be on that list, and it'd also be remiss not to have some kind of representation from the Character Doctor Who classics line because I've got all of those. I think as a representative example I'd forego the obvious choices like the Dalek gift packs and go for something like the Pyramids of Mars set, featuring Sutekh with light up eyes, because it was about as close as the classics line got to having a full blown playset:

Gah. Knew I'd forget some important stuff. Zoidzilla should be on that list See I've never been a big Gojulas fan, there are better Zoids out there. But he is nice tooled up with the Cannons that weren't released over here. Better Zoids are available: You need to see Mad Thunder which is just INSANE. I too had a Red Talking Dalek when I was younger, still have. Mine is missing the limbs now. A few years ago someone was doing Repro parts but I can't find them anymore. I should give this some thought. If I did a list it would have to deliberately exclude Transformers I think.

I have excluded Transformers for this, otherwise they'd dominate. Fortunately my talking Dalek still has all his limbs, quite how I do not know. I also have a grey one, minus limbs, which I picked up in a Blue Peter bring and buy sale at school.
Zoidzilla I liked I think because he vaguely connected to Trypticon. He was never a stand in, but there was a kind of link that I liked. He is the one that comes to mind when I think of the Zoids I had, although I'm sure I had a large red one of equivalent size with a long neck that I can't find a picture of on the wiki. I'm confused by that.
