That would be rather cool. If we're doing '85 cars next instead of '84 then given we've got Red Alert and Smokescreen, Tracks would be next on my list. I've recently cleaned up, completed and reprolabelled my original and in doing so rediscovered how great he is. The flight mode is nifty and unique among those car robots. The Binaltech one is good, I have been happy with that, but a proper Masterpiece would be a great addition to the range.

I've owned the reissue, the Road Rage repaint and the Binaltech version over the years and they have all been really lovely toys to own.

I think I'd bite the bullet and buy both MP Tracks AND Roadrage. There's never been a tracks toy that wasn't awesome.

Tracks I had as a child, so has nostalgic value to him. But, as an adult, I've come to like the character less and less. I think I see him as a poor man's Sunstreaker, character-wise, and I don't really feel eager to own any version of him. An MP version with that awesome and unique flight mode may swing it though. But, as a character, he just lifts right out.
Am I wrong with this? Who is Tracks?
Oh. and also blowing a sigh of relief over the 'MP 25 is Megatron' thing.

Tracks is always one of the first characters out the gate when the Ark crew are getting a new Japanese release- he was one of the first book-style reissues and one of the first Binaltechs. I was expecting to see him sooner rather than later. It would make sense for him to join the ranks of the MP Autobot cars- popular, easy repaint potential with Road Rage (and the black Tracks that was a competition prize back around the book-style reissue days) and a very popular vehicle mode that will attract the petrolheads.

Tracks- the wings should be somehow incorpating the doors to make them more solid & not just 2 thin fold out plastic things. Looks like we'll find out soon!An attendee at a Hong Kong toy show has reported back that "Tracker" (translated from Chinese) is MP25, and comes with Blaster and a human figure- presumably Raoul. He can stay in the box. There was a grey prototype on display which we will hopefully see pictures of soon. -Nick

Poor tracks Almost from the start, his thread has been about nothing but a hypothetical ironhide. ( EDIT: Those posts are now in the MP Ironhide Thread) And the first post immidiately after the first and closest thing to a confirmation we get about him is back to the hypothetical ironhide.

It's okay - Tracks cares enough about Tracks that we don't need to care about him, and can focus on the second-string players instead. After all, they're not as great as Tracks, and they need our love. ;-)

Oh, I care about Tracks too. He was the first "gold box" Classics figure I got back in the day- I was excited because I'd always been fascinated by the new Autobots activated in "Rock and Roll Out", and had managed to acquire Hoist, Grapple, Smokescreen and Skids when they first came out. My dad got me Hoist because we found him cheap in the Barras. Grapple and Skids were birthday presents from various relatives, and I think Smokescreen I saved up for. Tracks was one I don't remember seeing (though in my defence, I was 5) so I was well chuffed to finally get one. I love the look of his car mode, his robot mode is really distinctive and the "flight mode" is a nice extra.
On the other hand, Ratchet was my FIRST Transformer (along with Mirage). Warrior School was my FIRST Marvel comic story. MP Ironhide means MP Ratchet and that means joy beyond words. Plus Tracks has had a fine Binaltech/Alternator and a very good CHUG figure. Ratchet/Ironhide have never had updates worthy of the name- Animated Ratchet is great but he's also a distinct character from the original. All the MP cars so far have been great so I have confidence that the MP vans will be great too. Yay!

Oh I know who and what he is in that sense, I had the G1 toy (thank you though CJ!). I meant who is he character-wise, what does Tracks bring to the party? He's always seemed like poor man's Sunstreaker to me. A MP Tracks is way down on my list. In fact he's not even on my list. But I did love his G1 toy. If they do a good design job on him, he'll be hard to resist.

Tracks is awesome. I liked him from day one, which to me was that Autobot car toy advert that appeared in comics in 1985 featuring Jazz, Tracks, Red Alert and Grapple, and the first UK Transformers annual, in which he was the star of one of the two text stories, 'Missing in Action'. I guess I also like him because I'm a fan of the robots-disguised-as-cars theme, and his stories - 'Missing in Action', 'Rock and Roll Out' and 'Devastation Derby' were all strong on that front. He was as much a Triple Changer as Springer was, and much cooler as a flying Corvette with wings, missile launchers and a rotating black beam gun on his underbelly.
I always saw Hot Rod's car mode as being Tracks envy.
But yeah, the vanity is very Sunstreaker-ish.

I like tracks. Better looking car than sunstreaker, not yellow, nicer person who actually cares about others. IE, not an arsehole. Plus, he flies. A flying corvette. Sunstreaker's always been a nobody to me (will admit, at least he has a personality conpaired to his brother, who really IS a nobody).
Sunstreaker's only memorable trait is being a narcissistic yellow lambo. I'll take the blue metrosexual corvette with the bitchin' flames, who can fly, any day.

blue metrosexual corvette You also noticed he had a female mannequin behind the wheel in 'Rock and Roll Out' and a male one in 'Devastation Derby'? Martin

Anyway, here's a resin prototype of Tracks.Toy-style head sculpt, baby! Woohoo! I'll probably get the inevitable Road Rage repaint as well! -Nick EDIT: Also, I think we can safely change the question mark on the subject of this thread to a full stop

Yeah, I can't tell from that. The helmet surround is pretty much the same in toy and cartoon forms, the difference really is the faceplate, but I can't tell from that picture whether there's one there or not? The position of the missiles is much more cartoon than toy.
Regardless, that looks awesome. Just fantastic, although he does look like he's adopted Bumblebee's reversible chest panel for the logo. I fear a BIG YELLOW SQUARE! splatted in the front of his chest. Surely it's that and not a flip up lid to allow access to the seat in the car like the original.

I can just make out a faceplate, which yes, is a big surprise.
Not looking bad. I'd rather we saw several other characters before Tracks, and indeed he is not on my List, but he does look nice. No arse-flap. Small launchers though.

Tracks seems to be very popular in Japan, or at least the Corvette Stingray is. He was one of the first out the gate in Binaltech and the book-style reissues.
The face doesn't appear to have any features below the eyes, so I assumed he has the toy-style faceplate. Like Bumblebee he may have swappable faces. Hopefully unlike Bumblebee he won't have the other face as an Amazon exclusive.
