Return of the Primes.
Why else should they call the trilogy "Prime Wars," when literally nothing in these two parts really has much to do with them beyond Optimus?
I predict IDW will tie it in with the lost light finally finding the knights of cybertron.
I also predict hasbro will give us several of the 13, like a new Vector Prime, Solis Prime, and we'll FINALLY see the first classics Rodimus Prime.

Pretenders feels like it'd be too expensive to do these days, and micromasters are kind of coming into Titans Return with the base mode bit. I dunno. This line seems to be now about homaging the past classics didn't cover because it knows its target audience wants that. So bringing in heavy influences from more modern mythologies like the 13 Primes stuff doesn't feel like it'll fit. Maybe it'll be a proper Beast Wars reboot.
Prime wars does seem an odd name, given it would seem the first two thirds of this doesn't have that much to do with Primes generally.

If I was a betting man I'd say Micromasters, with TR compatible base ramps & 84-6 Micromasters and Micromasters in Pretenders, which would get the Pretender figures down small enough to work.

Hmm. A Prime based toyline where the gimmick is that every figure (or maybe just deluxes upwards?) has the ability to "upgrade" once you insert the Matrix. Kind of like Armada/Cybertron. But instead of weapons they just get bulkier. Or older. Or something.
And whatever happens, Takara will break time and space to make sure that it all looks like the Sunbow animation cels.

From G1 we did combiners - masters (would you group them all together & are Hasbro? head/target/power/micro/action) That does leave Pretenders, Classics unless they are using a G1.5 theme for mass market release (Predators Turbomasters). I'm sure at Hasbro are Pretenders designs that are Don IDW like.
