Spun Off From The Titans Return Thread, cos we don't have a thread about the 86 Movie bots already! I still don't think the 86 Hot Rod has been surpassed yet. -Ralph Yes it has, by the TRANSFORMERS COLLECTION version which can hold his original weapons AND his Targetmaster thanks to the power of MILLIMETRES!

I think I'm with the good Doc on this one, anyway, at least until I can grab MP Rodimus and see what he's like.

Yes it has, by the TRANSFORMERS COLLECTION version which can hold his original weapons AND his Targetmaster thanks to the power of MILLIMETRES! WHAT. -Ralph Original Hot Rod has hands that have an aprox. 4mm wide peg hole that fits the guns (does the engine on this version have a peg hole?) Targetmaster Hot Rod had his hands and engine retooled to have 5mm peg holes to take the Targetmaster's 5mm peg. Targetmaster Hot Rod cannot hold the original's guns, and the original cannot hold the Targetmaster's guns (the same is true for Blurr, Kup, Scourge & Cyclonus) Transformers Collection Hot Rod is essentially the Targetmaster version, with metal feet, and the original's guns retooled to fit in a 5mm hole (ring round the top of the handle) Since it can hold both the original and Targetmaster guns it is the beast and definitive version.

Original Hot Rod sits on my desk and he does have an engine block peghole. I have no guns to test if they fit though.

This is interesting news. What shade is the red on the collection version? same as the original? and is that the only Hot Rod to have had metal feet? I felt the original missed out a bit there, well mine anyway, as he has no metal parts where Kup & Blurr do.

Hmmmm.
My Kup & Blurr are the metal variants, but I may need to find a junker Hot Rod with metal toes at some point to upgrade mine. I'm not replacing him because he's my own 30 year old original, but he could go a pair of metal feet.
I don't think this TR Hot Rod is doing it for me. Partly because his hips are very loose, but the Universe one looks like a better proportioned figure to me.

Megatron and the Constructicons put a few holes in Prowl, Ratchet and Brawn, and arguably killed Ironhide. HOT ROD then blew up the shuttle where they lay awaiting repairs. Unless you go by the comic adaptation, in which the shuttle landed safely, enabling them to be repaired, hurrah!

Maybe Hot Rod is the greatest hero of them all?

Maybe Hot Rod is the greatest hero of them all? Thinking about it, Shockers will be happy as Prowl was probably the only Autobot NOT a traitor on the ship, as he was the only Autobot resurrected with ACTIONMASTER technology. Why didn't Prime resurrect the others? Because he knew they nipped round the back to gank Windcharger!
