When I say "retool" I mean... er... CAD-model re-use. I guess. If you look at the 3D renders of warrior prowl, it seems to share a lot of the same engineering as Cyber Battalion Prowl. (Especially the feet and chest.)

I am amused by the Optimus who has the action feature of an ENORMOUS AUTOBOT LOGO slamming into his truck cab front! Other robots in the line have guns, axes or stabby things to wave at you for attack! Optimus has...a logo! Fear him! -Ralph I might be wrong, but I think it's meant to be his shield. If not, Optimus has done far worse self promotion - see Generation 2!

So I got my first cyberverse warrior today. Acid Storm, because she seems shortpacked.
Sadly she sucks pretty hard. She's smaller than the nurid warriors were. I wasn't quite sure what exactly the mold's gimmick was, because the package doesn't really explain it? But turns out it's one of the kind I don't like. Not entirely different from Classics Deluxe Optimus' weird swing punch. And just like that one, there's no lock. The wings flop about, the "blades" can't unfold unless it's manually, and the spring always shuts them immediately. And as the twisting is in the waist, it's perma-loose, and always slightly cockeyed.
There's also no knee articulation, and the hips are fused as one piece that only swing frontward or backwards as one unit... with an added bonus to make her do the split. I guess this is all old news to anyo e who has Starscream, but this mold is new to me.
I know we've had a lot of discussion about how necessary articulation is or is not, but I feel that if there's no physical reason to omit the most basic points of articulation, like elbows, shoulders, knees and hips, then they should not be omitted. The functionality of mold would not have been weakened in any way, with ball jointed hips and knees. And it also wouldn't have been hurt by adding small tabs to lock the wings in place, or a lock in the waist, so the gimmick is not "active" unless you want it to be. Very small things would have made an amazing difference.
EDIT: I did figure out how to lock the waist in place. That helps a ton.

Supermarkets near me only have 1 steps as well. The Entertainer has a bigger selection - not sure how well it's been doing though.

In my area, the toy isles are currently poorly curated. One big mess of everything hanging everwhere, and you can't even begin to call the TF section "organized." But it seems wave two of warriors is constant sellout, while optimus and bumblebee shelfwarms. Megs and Starscream not as badly, but still pretty bad. But I see wave two restocked fairly frequently, then all gone next time i'm there.

It's stiffing round my way. Initially the Shockwaves in the Warrior class flew off the shelves. Otherwise, not so much.
