Free listing weekend on ebay this weekend, but they're trying something new - fixed price listings are free, not auction style.
What this means is you can put 'buy it now' on any item, include the 'best offer' thing and have it run for up to 10 days for free. Ho ho ho ho, I know what I'll be doing this weekend!

Yikes. How DO you block people? And how the hell can ebay see this person's account and think 'yes, there is no problem there'. Can you not make a counter complaint? This is the problem with not letting sellers given negative feedback too!

You may remember me mentioning I had issues with an ebay user rex_991234 not paying for items. So I barred him from bidding. Looks like he did it again as rex1232012. Is a Luke Warner of North London known to us?

Yep. This person is called Luke Warner too. Seriously, put in a counter complaint and point out that this guy seems to pull this all the time. I had a problem last year when someone claimed they hadn't received an item, and their account showed that they'd pulled that for pretty much everything they'd bought. Of course I tracked the item, and had a copy of the guy's signature to show he had it. Some people are idiots.

Added to the blocked list.
The problem is that Ebay are just far too lax about this sort of thing, making it less desirable to sell through them.

Seriously, put in a counter complaint and point out that this guy seems to pull this all the time. Yeah definitely. Clear out your Paypal account and remove any cards linked to it so they don't have any way of just taking your money. Counter complain about it, and if Paypal do not uphold your complaint, contact the Financial Ombundsman to act as an intermediary. What this guy is doing is fraud, which is illegal. Get the police involved if you have to.

Unfortunately, its too late for that and the money he paid me has been minused out.
I have complained to eBay, despite there being no counter option I could find. Where can I contact the financial Ombundsman?
Will be blocking this idiot asap. Going to give him a chance to back off first.

Where can I contact the financial Ombundsman? www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/If ebay/paypal respond to you without giving back your money, tell them you're unsatisfied with how they've handled the complaint and will be taking the matter up with the Financial Ombudsman. Had to threaten an estate agent with the Property Ombudsman a few years back due to their incompetence, they sorted the problem very quickly and gave me some money.

Not that I'd say eBay's customer service was poor, but after failing to find something in the help section because the links flowed to the wrong pages and following an exchange of emails in which I received two sets of instructions, neither of which answered my query, I eventually figured out how do do the thing myself and then sent them a set of instructions on how do it...

Actually, looking at this guys feedback, he's actually committing a criminal offence: fraud. You need to get the police in, I'm afraid. It looks like he's doing it on a fair scale. I would telephone Paypal, and I would contact the police. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Paypal takes the money from your bank using a direct debit method (or at least they used to) this is covered under the direct debit scheme, simply contact your bank, tell them to take the payment back as you've been a victim of fraud and you are not on agreement for that payment to be taken and they will claw back the money, Jason

I didn't get the email - but I'm not listed as a seller so that might be why. Ebay are likely just to use the IP address you connect with and nothing actually on your computer. Still totally pants way of verifying though.

In particular telling you there's a postage cost to pay when here isn't?
