Yes you can block individual ebay users from bidding on your auctions. I've done it a few times over the years.

You want to watch out for user attic_curios, goes round closing your listings for not adding the postage price on the start price so ebay get insertion fee of you [then you have lots of fees to pay without selling anything]

While I don't agree with ebay's change in policy regarding free postage and packing on comic books if I was going to sell I would follow it and would have no truck with anyone who was listing an item and then adding on postage and packing after the auction finished.
It sucks, but if you want to sell on ebay you have to abide by their policies, however asinine they are.

Hmm collections and lots of books have a max of £7. Even if recorded can be added as an extra that still seems like not many books per lot. Still better than it was.

Yeah, some of the book categories could do with a higher maximum. Text books are set at £2.75; a degree-level book would easily cost £5 to post. But, yes, better than it was.

I recently had yet another failed attempt at trying to sell something on Ebay (everything I've listed on there has ever not sold or has only sold for the opening price). I tried to sell a load of magazines but when I was writing out the details for them I was told that I couldn't ask for the amount of postage I had put down. It turns out that in certain magazine sections of Ebay you cannot sell anything unless it is free postage which I couldn't offer because each of my auctions were lots of eleven issues of a computer game magazine and the weight of them came in at just under £10 postage according to Ebay's postage calculator. I ended up listing them under a nondescript magazine section which may have seriously affected the sales for them.

Add the postage price and then some to your starting bid price. All it means is you can't add postage after the auction.
The way I see it there are two kinds of ebay buyer. The one who only looks at the bid price and can't understand why it's too high or if there is a postage price pays no attention to it and then gets pissed off when they get the total invoiced to them. the other type is the one who works out the total they will have to pay and only bids if they find it acceptable.
You never want the first type of person winning your auction ever it's just not worth the hassle. The second type will understand the higer start price is to allow for postage and be happy to bid just as they would have been if you listed them for £2 and £10 postage.

I have just been sent my latest 'seller review' from ebay. Apparently my account has fallen beneath seller standards because of the DSR system.
I have 100% positive feedback, and all my stupid DSR stars are at 5 or nearly there. Sod off ebay.

I didn't get that much listed due to making the mistake of purchasing Baldur's Gate 2, but I did get a decent amount on. Mostly Movie stuff, but some interesting things, like G2 Ultra Magnus. search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZblueshift2k5

Managed to get one negative changed after a buyer couldn't find 3 micromachines, I asked her to have anothe look in the playset and she found them.
Then today it happened again, but this time I really am peeved by the buyers frankly stupidity. Sold an item on the 5th December in the listing it said I couldn't gaurantee sending before the following weekend after payment, so in this case Sat 11th and Sunday 12th, this is down to work and packages that can be too big or too many to walk to the post office with (I try to post in order of payment and theres only so many I can walk with per day) so the weekend is the only time I can be certain of getting to the post office during the week and last week there was the weather to contend with.
On the 11th the buyer asks when they should expect delivery. It was a polite enough question and when I read it on the 12th I replied that I was on my way to the post office to post it right then.
I sent it 2nd class, today I got negative feedback saying
"Still awaiting parsel" (their spelling)
today is the 15th the order details page shows estimated deliver as 15th-18th December. So this is the first day they should have expected it to arrive. So I've posted when I said I would by the method I said I would and by ebays own estimate it still has two days before it could be considered late and even then that would be royal mails, most likely delayed by snow, failure, not mine but still I have to put up with negative feedback from someone who completely failed to read and or understand the auctiono they bid on.
I hate ebay newbies.
And I hate ebay. No matter how much money and toys it brings me.
Rant over.

I've sold on forums mostly for the last year or two, but the shear volume of stuff that was turfed out was worth to much to broke me to give away and would have taken forever to sell any other way. Then ebay started doing free listing days once a fortnight meaning I could list asmuch as I wanted however unlikely it was to sell.
Thats made it worth while, but I am now fed up with it all.

And my hatred grows. Spent yesterday sorting out everything I want to get rid of and planned to take advantage of another free listings day. Except when I come to start listing I'm ineligble because my seller rating is below wherever ebay think it should be.
Last month I sold a few things but was delayed shipping because I hurt my back and couldn't get to the post office, I emailed all the buyers to apologise and informed them when I did send their stuff about a day or two late. I think all but 1 arrived or should have barring postal uselessness, before the estimated date stated in my auction and yet some arse still felt the need to mark me down on the stars. So no free listings and a complete waste of my Sunday.

Ugh those star ratings are such rubbish. Apparently one of mine was DANGEROUSLY LOW even though I've never had any negative feedback in my life.
The only neutral feedback was someone moaning that I'd not posted an item fast enough. I said in the auction it would be four days, I posted it within 3. But Waa waa waa, and e-bay wouldn't do anything about it either.
It is a shame you can only give positive feedback to buyers. Why even bother?
