I think Mr Fantastic is the hardest to write. When a writer really gets to grips with him he's very interesting. Hickman did great with him.

What if Pinwig just harmlessly passed on those Class CDs to me without listening to them! Or the books!! Don't give me ideas.

The thing is, I really enjoy the FF concept when done in other media - ie the Incredible, the FF analogues in Venture Bros... but the actual FF is eeeeh. I think a lot of it is that there is super reverence towards them in the comics but never really explaining why I should care.

You mean, in-universe?
Well, there's the simple fact of them being the first, but more than that there's the very public nature of them, and the fact that public loves them for being so public and positive role models. The general acceptance and adoration that the public has for the FF is something that all other heroes aspire for but never seem to reach. This coupled with the team being very genuine, reliable, and experienced, means that other heroes can't even bring themselves to be jealous of their success, as the FF have earned it over and over.
In the real-world, I think the reverence is simply that people know and respect that the FF are so important to the MU in general that their absence is like a missing piece of history, and not so much that you HAVE to be a fan of them to understand their influence.

There so many great stories.... But let's focus on the modern, have any of you... you... non-F4ers, read the Hickman run? It's a thing of beauty. I have't but I loved his Avengers run so picked up some volumes when I found them cheap, sadly I still need volume 1 (I think) so havent made a start on them.

The FF are ok.
Passing on True Friend gifts without using them is not. Perhaps the bag can yet find its way home?

orry off topic, but mention of the Incredibles was made...
What Marvel should be doing is getting Disney/Pixar to make animated movies, proper high end movies (like the Incredibles) starring RDJ, the Chris', well everybody. Make them MCU continuity. Guardians certainly has a wide open space between Vol2 and Infinity War. There could be a good story for the Avengers while they're on the run between Civil War and Infinity War.
Would be a great way to keep actors involved who dont want to commit to the full live action experience and fill out some of the usually 2 or more year gaps between existing films. It would be especially good for Spider-man given the roughly real time storytelling we'll likely only get this next one set in highschool, but could have animated ones set there for years to come.

What Marvel should be doing is getting Disney/Pixar to make animated movies, I had hoped that the success of Big Hero 6 (a Marvel comic property after all and it even has a Stan cameo) would herald a series of animated Marvel films to run alongside the live action films and am puzzled that has not happened. Loads of Marvel stuff would work great in animation. -Ralph

Its not that its bad, it just feels like Pixar suddenly though they were Disney for a film and it didn't work properly.
Still it is in a fight with at least one of the Cars films for worst Pixar film.

Weakest Pixar that I've seen is Ratatouille I think. Finally saw it after all these years during the summer and was quite disappointed. The Incredibles is _great_, and we're off to see the sequel at the cinema tomorrow (release delayed over here ). It's both the best Fantastic Four film ever made and also the best Watchmen adaptation.

(Not a complaint, the movie was wonderful) But as Disney now theoretically has access to F4, I'm hoping they may give it the BH6 treatment.
