Why attack it? It hasn't done anything to us and may be useful. At the moment it might be a walking key card because we haven't found one anywhere else.

Like we assumed we couldn't open the locked door until we tried, and found it was only locked from our side. The narrator seems to suggest the Borg is afraid of people with camp beds, so maybe we can prove it right on that score, and we might find all sorts of goodies on its person. If we just wander around avoiding interaction with it, we'll probably miss out on some short cut to victory, or at least points. Plus, I resent the Borg for being a spoilsport and not co-operating with my push-the-Botg-out-of-the-window stratagem. We don't have to kill it with the camp bed, but we should do something bold with it, just to experiment. Like talk to it. Or go "YAAAA!" in its face. We'll surely learn something! Martin |

Right, let's examine it so we can pick up any clues then do what Martin wants to.
We haven't investigated everything that has been mentioned in the new rooms so far, but we certainly need to start thinking about a way forward and some kind of interaction with the sentry would be on that list. I was just interested to watch it and see what it does because now we're shot of the bed, it won't interact with us. It does feel though that that might not be the total part the sentry plays in this. But if you think about it, had we played this the way we were expected to, overcoming the sentry and getting past it would feel as much a triumph as working out the plank went on the outlet pipes.

That's fair enough, but missing the bolts on the door wasn't an assumption - examining it got lost in the pants on head wang helicoptering madness going on. Examine door was on the list of things to do, but it got forgotten when we went out the window first. |

'What an abomination against science and nature' you think to yourself as you try to make a better assessment. Under the exo suit you can now make out some kind of uniform. It's tattered, but you can see some details. Black across the shoulders and red on the main torso, some kind of arrow insignia remains on the left breast. Was this thing once human before his body was mutated... No, more like infected, with these grotesque robotic parts? Studying further for anything that may be of use, you see a keycard protruding from the exosuit at the waist.

Black shoulders and red uniform means it could be anyone in the command wing of TNG's Star Fleet - Picard, Riker, Wesley Crusher, season 1 Worf (if I remember rightly). Black and yellow means engineering or security. Black and blue means science or medical. I get it. We need to get into the booth, secure the door, use the control panel to open the front door and let the dogs in, then the Borg will deal with them. Then we can go and get the crowbar, open the cabinet and hopefully in there find the password to the control terminal, from which we can learn how to drive the bike. After we've used the crowbar to clobber whoever survives the Borg/dog showdown. Martin |
