There's a slightly longer wait than before and the man studies the output intently befote waving you through to a high counter. A security officer sits behind it, peering over the top of his desk eyeing you suspiciously.
"Please present ID and state name to enter the city." he asks.
Beyond him a large gloss door slides open as people from another security check walk forth, through it get a glimpse of the city beyond.

He pauses and eyes you up and down. "Yes, a man like yourself seem to be the sort to appreciate that. If you change your mind on the one you take from me, you can always come back and swap it, providing it's in good condition of course. But you also don't seem to have much coin right now, so if you don't mind I have other customers." Right, so it looks likely a Prowl toy is going to be needed at some point, but also that it has to be the *right* Prowl.... Shockers, give us the gen - which Prowls are rare or desirable? Okay, at this point we are reminded that we don't actually know our name. We're guessing it's ShockProwl based on the SP who signed the note who is apparently us. However, the only ID we have is Enrique's, and the picture on that doesn't look like us.
The connected locations tells us the city plaza is where we're trying to get to.
Do we want to try Enrique's ID and probably get caught out? or state our name as Shockprowl and say we've lost our ID?

But it is clear we need money to buy a prowl. Selling the bike should be our top priority Where we shouted about selling the bike, the entry in the index reads, "Better find someone who's interested first", so this might be a way to make money. Perhaps we don't need to get it out, just inquire about the place to see if anyone wants a speeder bike. |

This is interesting:
You return to the vehicle park, but there's no pedestrian entrance, just an exit. You ask the attendant if you can get your bike, but he says in response;
"You mean that old 74-Z? Fast piece of kit, what is it? An '83?"
He pauses as if considering something before continuing.
"Ah don't worry... Hey man, you seem new here. Unless you're leaving through that main gate - which I wouldn't do if I were you, all vehicles shall be moved for their owners to a vehicle park within the inner wall once you get through that security check."
One, it tells us the bike would follow us inside the wall once we get through the security check so we don't need to worry about that, but he seemed to admire the bike, so maybe him pausing to consider something was him not recognising the actual bike, but thinking about buying it from us?

A Mediterranean looking woman comes up behind him.
"Alotta, would you please put out a call for an Oprah Cunningham." She agrees with a nod, turns and moves towards an intercom system. The officer's attention returns to you with a stern look.
"You, wait there."
He points at a small area just behind you, not wanting to offend any further you take a step back and the officer gestures for the next person from the queue to come through.

The officer takes notice and nods subtly. You hand over the key card which he inspects and hands back. He speaks deliberately as if to ensure anyone who may be paying attention can hear everything.
"Thank you for the ID Mr. Lopez. Unfortunately there is a problem with the system processing your details, please return later." He leans forward and speaks so only you can hear.
"Buddy - I can let you go, but can't let you in to the city when you so obviously don't match your ID. If we get caught, it'll be hell for both of us. Now get back to the market and come back when you're ready."
You follow his advice and return to the centre of the clearance area. As you leave, another officer stamps the back of your hand with a tick. He informs you it means you don't have to queue for the X-Ray anymore having been scanned and can skip straight to the ID check desk.

That isn't enough for him to let us through. He wants to see ID and Enrique's doesn't work. He's sent us back to the market for the next step.
So we need a way to get some ID which might mean needing cash too.

We need intel. Talk to the stall holders and follow up the idea of trying to sell the bike to the car park attendant.

I can't tell if Stom just decided to play up to Blue's performance or whether that was supposed to happen! A bit of both. Just showing him the key card would have given you a shorter route to a similar conclusion. |
