Following them inside you are led into a small room brightly lit room. It's not decorated at all, with slightly off white walls and no windows. You're invited to sit at a table on an uncomfortable chair. Closing the door behind them, two people enter and sit opposite, their chairs slightly higher than yours you're put immediately ill at ease.
On the table is a strange looking device with an analogue needle gauge and a few selection dials. The two people start by explaining that you'll be audited and begin by asking you gentle questions about how your day is going and how you're feeling. It's nothing too tough. In a way, they seem to be genuinely trying to help. Starting to feel more comfortable with them you start to open up more about how you've been feeling, about your memory loss and the struggles that you've had to overcome. As far fetched as they sound, they seem to accept them knowingly. Yes, you think. These are good people. They only want to help me. Perhaps I can help them?
The conversation develops and they explain about their church. About its origins and problems they have with perception amongst the general populace, and yet, as a community they overcome this and continue to strive. Starting at a low level, it won't be easy, but continued contributions will allow you to gain levels and have more secrets about the organisation, sorry, they meant to say universe, revealed to you should you wish to be part of what the founder has built from nothing.
You've barely noticed that several hours have past. With your fragile mental state imbued with new found direction, the indoctrination takes place and you live out your days striving for the truth to be revealed.

What indeed... LOAD 2.205 So we need to get the lie detector out without going in. That did feel odd to me. One other linked location and it was this house? Nah. That would mean we can't go anywhere else from the road except back to the plaza. |

Can I just clarify that I've never had a Scientology Audit and the work above is fiction, not designed in any way to reflect actual Scientology practices. It is largely written to reflect society's perception, rather than any preconceived notions that I as the author have.

Let's go back a step. Our instruction was "Find my house and knock on the door with our sign between 8 and 9pm and I shall answer."
We weren't told to break into his house.
We've knocked on all the doors but one, and got answers, but none of them were Kasparov.
We knocked on the one remaining door and got no answer. So if that's Kasparov's house, and if what he said is true, then it can't be between 8 and 9pm.
We really need to find out the time.
Or alternatively keep knocking on the door, and when it's between 8 and 9 he'll presumably answer! Unless there's something going on that prevents it ever becoming 8pm.
Hmmm.

There is another door we haven't yet knocked on - the upside down man and cross one. We probably need to for the sake of completion but none of the doors have outright killed us yet. That one seems most likely.
You might be right about the time, but Stom keeps reminding us this game is modelled on old school text adventures, where there is no concept of the progress of time in the way it works in modern games. Time changes in the descriptions as the game needs it to. For example if time progressed and we missed the window to knock, then the game would be stuck. However, the fact we were given a time is probably relevant or it wouldn't have been mentioned. It's also true we now know a time lord, who can take us to the right time, which I guess will happen if we help her. It fits Stom's MO to concoct a puzzle that means several of these houses relate in a chain that results in us meeting Kasparov. We've worked backwards from the doctor to the scientologists, we need to work out what the step preceding them is to know how to get the lie detector. I'm also sure the sewers are relevant somehow because they wouldn't need to be here otherwise.

Walked right into that one...
I reckon the Palmers will be part of this too, but we need to work out how to be worthy. Brian Blessed I think might not be, because he was quick to be done with us. There was no prompt for further interaction like there has been with the doctor, the scients and the Palmers.

"That's better." The voice from the back states sinisterly as its owner stands, corrects his leather over garment and walks to the door. "Do forgive my pet here, I haven't fully house broken him, but with the proper guidance I'm sure he can be easily trained. Now, what can we do for you?"

Gah. I have no idea how all these fit together. So what does Ramsay want? To be lord of Winterfell and married to Sansa. We can't offer him either of those things. What do we want from him? Possibly torture devices to extract the lie detector but that seems a bit extreme.

Oh man, I thought once we'd finally got that bastard out of the bar that we were nearly there with this chapter. Now there's a whole new set of interconnected puzzles to solve. This is quite possibly the best text adventure I've ever played!

The moment is brief however as his keeper interjects to you with an insincere friendliness. almost as if he wants you to know that his manner is false.
"Come now, my squire here wants for nothing, he's perfectly happy where he is, isn't that right Reek?"
Reek looks down, making the smallest of verbal acknowledgements.
Locking eyes with you and turning serious he continues.
"Of course, if anyone would try to interfere with him, I'd wouldn't be too impressed. And if you think that would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention."

I have absolutely no idea!
This puzzle is hard to get a grip on because apart from the Doctor no one seems to want anything. They all must connect somehow in a chain but we've only identified the last link. The scientologists want to convert people and Reek seems a prime candidate from the wording of that description, but how do we persuade them to come out?

One disappears to a back room and comes back with a strange looking device with an analogue needle gauge and a few selection dials. They whisper something to each other and two move past you to the house next door. You look on as the door is answered.
The exchange is brief, it doesn't take long for the subtle implications from the house owner to escalate into full on violence. It seems he is not keen on people trying to undo whatever sick, twisted acts he had subjected his steward to. One is grabbed and pulled inside screaming, the noises fade as the door is closed behind, the second flees back to their house, having dropped their device in the tussle.
