Last time Maiden played Download they planned a flyby of Ed Force One (which was called off because of the shocking weather), time before that they opened their set with a Spitfire blatting over the stage. I wonder how they're going to top that this year...? I read they're going with an extension to the current tour setup, which means this time they'll open with a Spitfire blatting ON the stage.

That does not surprise me.
Just totting up my future, and I have gigs booked into February next year. I should really put some thought into how this will impact my uni stuff now...

Technically a stand up show, but at least half the material was songs. Most of which wa quite good. 9 - Kiefer Sutherland - Jack Bauer putting on a full on Country gig only 20 minutes walk from home. How could I say no? Dammit Chloe, I couldn't, I just couldn't. Not the best venue for people nearer the back, but suprisingly good show. And with that I think that me done for gigs this year. A pretty good year, though theres a few shows I wish Id gotten too.

Next year is shaping up nicely for me. Just found out Paul Heaton is touring and I think I might finally be able to make a show.
And Goo Goo Dolls are touring again.

Two more gigs after that this month, but no real travelling until December, even then only Birmingham.
I know I've got Birmingham and Manchester in February, then London again in March but all my other pre-booked gigs now are only either Nottingham or Leicester.

The Lounge Kittens on their farewell tour. I didn't really realise how much I had relied on their silly acapella songs until they decided to call it quits. The only three dates were Manchester, London and Southampton, so I go north.

Oh they're done? I might have to grab tickets. Saw Buckcherry saturday night, very good and the support band, The Treatment were also pretty good. Good old fashioned 80's rock.

Ghost were the more entertaining headliner, but the whole Halestom/ITM/NYD night was better throughout. On such tight margins are my rankings called!

The Wildhearts killed it, but the crowd gets more unpleasant and dare I say "Entitled and Gammon-y" every time I go. And for that reason alone they get knocked off the top spot by last nights gig, which was everything you want in a show: Energetic, loud and in a venue the size of a shoebox with lots of friendly follk. When I can make my fingers work a laptop properly again, I shall update the list.

1. Sumo Cyco: Don't see this being surpassed this year, but you never know. All the reasons outlined above, and the band were super nice and talked to anyone who came near too. My own personal MH issues took the gloss off the end of the night, but the show itself was absolute 100% 2. The Wildhearts - Ferocious Dog - Tony Wright 3. Sumo Cyco - As Sirens Fall - Suburban 4. Machine Head 5. Halestorm - In This Moment - New Years Day 5. Ghost - All Them Witches - Tribulation 7. Devin Townsend 8. Ninja Sex Party - TWRP - Planet Booty 9. Ghost - All Them Witches - Tribulation 7. Devin Townsend 8. Devin Townsend - Haken: Devin on his absolute proggy best form, taking us on a journey from a beach party to a disco via unutterable night. Haken played the heavily TF:TM inspired '1985' which made my night! 9. Ninja Sex Party - TWRP - Planet Booty 10. Royal Republic - Blackout Problems 11. Bloodywood - Armada Of Secrets - Wolves Don't Sleep: 12. Skunk Anansie - The Nova Twins 13. Papa Roach - Nothing More 14. Terrorvision - The Amorettes 15.
