I'm not saying this to be mean, but I don't think there was one on CW and TR. I think it wasn't until PotP that they actually started to care about casting, because I think that was the one they started to actually cast Names, and use it as the primary selling point.
So before then, I really don't think there was a casting director, and that job was probably just done by whoever was in charge.

Just in case you misunderstood me, and forgive me if I'm reading your post wrong, The two roles are different: Casting Director: the person responsible for assigning roles Voice Director: the person responsible for directing the artists in a voice over session They may well be the same person! The point got raised on the Zoom chat last night, Burns said he could hear similarities in the voice style between POTP and WFC and thought the same Voice Director was involved so I checked and discovered he was right. For the rest of those responsible see www.imdb.com/title/tt9789660/fullcredits

I mistyped. I did mean Voice Director. I was talking about cast so much that I mixed up my words. Sorry 'bout that.
I think that in the first two, when talent wasn't a serious consideration, they didn't have a voice director, and was just whatever writer/producer/generic person in charge that day (or even just sound technician manning the booth). And it wasn't until they started trying to hype the seties with b and c list actors, that they brought in an actual VD for Professionalism.

I like to imagine Mark Hamill coming in and saying 'Right, what's my direction' and the staff in the booth just looking blankly at him.

Because I hate myself, I just rewatched episode 1 of CW to focus on the voices. It now seems like Shakespeare compared to Siege. The characters do speak normally...rather...than...pausing...between....each...........................word.

Nothing! He had that ridge at the top that made it look like he had a little nose at the top of his normal nose.

If you have Netflix it's worth a go, Shockers. If only an episode so you can legitimately berate it like everyone else.

Yes, I noticed Prowl's two noses as well. I thought it was a nice touch to make him look more alien robot like.

And you can say that because you've seen it.
(Is it? really the worst? You've got me thinking now. Surely there must be something worse. Surely).

I'd say it's bad in its own unique way compared to other bad cartoons like Energon. It was way to cliché for me. It's like a bad fanzine that thinks it's edgy, dramatic and the best story ever but I dound it actually very cringey. It just had no substance.
And I was determined to like it, I really was.
I've still not decided if I rolled my eyes more times watching this compared to when watching the Bay films.
But there are a lot of people that enjoyed it so perhaps I'm just an old fart now. I think I'd have liked this back in the 90's possibly.
