 OK, so the leg on OUR LEFT is the one that forms the real cockpit. If you look behind it there's a pink landing gear embedded in the back of the leg that isn't in the other leg. The leg on OUR RIGHT is the fake cockpit which ends up under the body. Phil's TF Instructions: Remove the two weapons. Straighten the arms at the sides, and bend the arms up so the hands are in front of the shoulders. The shoulders will tab into the wrists. Position the rotors so they're in a V shape either side of the tail. They should be like that anyway in robot mode. Raise the arms 90° out to the sides at each shoulder Bend the ankles back 90° so the feet point down Rotate each leg at the thigh 90° out to the sides. Swing each foot up 180° so they're pointing up on what's now on the front of each leg. Rotate the real cockpit leg - the one with the pink landing gear on OUR LEFT 180° at the thigh - both cockputs are now facing the same direction to the right. On the leg on OUR RIGHT the foot has it's peg hole facing LEFT. Rotate it 180° so it points RIGHT. Both feet now have a slot on the back of the foot near a tab - tab them together. Fold each leg 90° out to the sides as if he's doing the splits. Fold the panel with the rotor on the back down. Fold the tail back towards the body while pulling up: the center of the body will rotate back through the sides onto the back of the head and the tail then tabs into what is the center of the body. Fold the body & tail section and the rotor section back up towards each other - try to keep the V of the blades eeither side of the tail so they don't get in the way. Don't try to tab the rotor section in yet, just keep them alongside each other. Rotate the toy 90° at the waist so the rotors are to OUR LEFT, the same side as the landing gear and real cockpit. Open the door on the back of - the fake cockpit - and bend the knee back 180° so the upper leg is now inside the lower leg. Close the door on the back of that leg. Fold the tail down on top of that leg and tab it in. Fold the rotor section down onto the tail and tab it in. Spread the rotors out. The leg to OUR LEFT is now sticking out the front of the helicopter. Open the door kn what was the back of that leg, it has the pink landing gear built into it. Bend the knee back 180° so the upper leg is now inside the lower leg forming the helicopter's cockpit. Close the door on the under the cockpit and turn the helicopter so the cockpit faces you. Fold the foot on the left alongside the cockpit back to form the left wing and tab into place. Fold the foot on the right alongside the body forwards to form to form the right wing and tab into place. Fold the folded up arms 90° forward - a slot on the elbows will mate with a tab on the wings and a tab on the inside of the upper arms will mate with a slot on the body. Peg a weapon under each wing. Fold the landing gear down. DONE. |

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the duel cockpit legs is specifically IDW's doing. I think that's how he's designed in MTMTE/Lost Light.
Personally, I would have preferred the toy accurate split cockpit design with a more simplistic and traditional leg transformation.
