Rotorstorm will be Toy Fu'd as will unopened Spinister. And thus where Burns went wrong is revealed. Phil did warn Ralph about Spinister: Spinister and Crosshairs acquired. Oops. Thanks to their lack of retail I did not say that Spinister, while a very clever toy, might not be a toy for Ralph. The feet..... OK, yes, as you can see I did not warn Ralph BEFORE he bought Spinister because we thought his wave had been skipped before Spinister showed up rather unexpectedly. But having issued the warning at that point and heard NOTHING since was it not reasonable to assume that Burns had unexpectedly coped OK with it, ala Siege Ultra Magnus? How was I to know you'd "done a Pinwig" and left Spinister in his box?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? I AM INNOCENT! I have EVEN provided step by step instructions which took me all morning to write! First time I've transaformed my Rotorstorm too!!! And what does Burns do?

Phil has transformed Spinister enough to only TF Rotorstorm when we really needed to.
Phil was considering getting a second to leave in helicopter mode....

Rotorstorm will be Toy Fu'd as will unopened Spinister. THIS IS THE WORST TRANSFORMER MOULD OF ALL TIME. -Ralph I really love how they both look but yeah, that transformation is in no way fun

Tell you what. I'm loving this G2 Megatron. It may not have the shoulder canon in robot mode, but the tank is great. It almost has a sort of Metal Slug vibe to it. I'm warming to the robot too. It isn't *that* bad.

I tell you what, I only had problems with Spinister the first time. Once you know how it goes, it's not a problem.
I have been eyeing G2 Megs up. I am tempted.

Hasbro just charged my for my two G2 Megatrons.

Okay so they took Siege Megatron, which is a mediocre but perfectly serviceable toy, and retooled it with the expressed goal of making a G2 Megatron homage.
Okay, so the concept is sound. It would require a complete reengineering of the functionality of the upper torso, but it's doable.
So they did complete change the entire engineering of the upper body. They changed the parts on the legs. They changed so much very little remains of the original toy. Only to make it look exactly like it did before. But not only that, they also seemed to actively work against it having any ability to function as the G2 Megatron update the mold was supposed to be.
And not only that, they actually made it worse as a toy.
This toy's only redeeming factor is this Select release's G2 deco and unintended Megastorm homage.

I mean, that certainly takes an impressive amount of skill to achieve so little from doing so much...
But yeah, if not for the deco, I wouldn't be impressed with this Megatron at all. The only thing that saves it for me is that I don't have any of the WFC Megatrons yet, so at least it doesn't feel redundant to my collection. But that's not really a big plus...

I find myself underwhelmed by G2 Megs.
One outstanding TF left to arrive this side of being employed again. G2 Sandstorm. I can see that slipping to January.

I bought neither Siege nor Earthrise Megatron, and thus find myself quite amused by G2 Megs. He's a big chonky toy, and the inaccurate robot mode doesn't seem to bother me too much.
He's a decent addition to the G2 collection. Just don't remind me I missed G2 Sandstorm...
Oddly, having not bought a Megatron since Classics, I've bought two this year.

The worst part about it is it was almost there!
The way the tank treads/front end transform, with some engineering cleverness, it could have had a G2 configuration, and kept the G1 chest.
It could have been both, and been one of the most genuinely clever feats in a good while.
Adding to that, if the tank cannon weren't awkwardly connected to the stupid sword, and more 5mm ports existed in the right places, bthen it could have plugged into the back and mimicked the G1 gun barrel on his back, and it could have plugged into his side and mimiced the Armada tank barrel placement.

And Sandstorm, and Cordon & Spinout came in today!
Be extra careful freeing Sandstorm's guns. The plastic bubble is practically molded around them. I nearly broke them (they now have stress marks) getting them out, and wish I'd cut them free. Sandstorm is nifty, but his strength is in his jet mode. His robot is pretty dull on it's own. It just needs a bit more to make it pop.
The diaclones suffer more QC issues than Sunstreaker. Nothing nearly as bad as Exhaust (at least on mine), but enough that it dampens the toys a bit. Mostly in vehicle mode instead of robot. (But my spinout has almost the exact same hip problem my first exhaust had) I do wish two things: 1) They had a new toy based head 2) hasbro included a new gun that was run three times. One for each of them, and one for sunny.
Other than that, I like Cordon a lot better than either Spinout or Sunstreaker. He pops more. Spinout suffers the same issue Sunstreaker does, in needing additional colors in robot mode. Although the black shoulders go a long way over Sunstreaker's incorrect yellow shoulders.
All this makes it sound like I don't like these three which couldn't be further from the truth! There's just not much positive to say that hasn't been said about the other versions.

Lots of this we knew already
But the thing that makes me think this might be legit is the Walgreens exclusive. I think I mentioned on the call last night I was having trouble figuring out what it was as there didn't seem to be an obvious deluxe repaint from an earlier wave that isn't elsewhere in the line. The Titans Return 2 pack came to mind, toys shelved previously, and I came to the conclusion that Walgreens was getting one of the Earth mode Lambos.

If any of these rumors are true, it'll probably "earth mode" sideswipe.

Wonder how difficult it would be to parts swap eith Tighertrack to make this? The shoulders and shins are held on with pins, making a part swap for advanced customizers only. Though I've also not figured out how to get the head off to swap Tigertrack and Red Alert.
