It was indeed.
I regret moving some of them on now. They saved me money. Having the Star Saber/Victory Leo set cured me of any desire to own the full size ones.

Hah! Yes - exactly the same with me! Perfectly happy with these versions.
Also the Cyberjet that looks like Jetfire is still hanging from my ceiling.

The Cyberjet Jetfire and Flipchanger Racecar Mirage are triumphs and what the respective moulds should have been all along. I had all the main line releases. Still have RM-01 G1 Convoy RM-02 Beast Megatron RM-03 Ligier RM-04 Wrecker Hook RM-05 R-Blade RM-06 Air Hunter RM-07 Bound Rogue RM-08 Wingstun RM-09 Psycho-Orb RM-11 Beast Convoy RM-15 Star Saber RM-16 Victory Leo RM-18 Road Rocket RM-19 Double Face RM-20 Delta Seeker vs X-Gunner RM-22 Lio Convoy Really regret getting shot of the ATB pair, I thought one version of the mould would be sufficient and chose BWII, and Reverse Convoy. Star Saber is fabulous.

I bought RM Starscream at Botcon '05 for $50, the day before Classics Starscream was announced.

It was either the day before, or the hour before. I kinda remember buying it (after spending a long time looking for one) and then walking straight into the hasbro panel...
But then even my luck couldn't be that bad.

I've still got a few of the Robotmaster figures, and I doubt I'll ever part with them, because they're all great. Apart from that Optimus Prime, which... is not. He's really not.
Although I ordered a few direct from HLJ (before the days that Royal Mail were quite so wise to them) - BW Megatron, Victory Saber - I lucked out with some others thanks to eBay. I manage to get a bulk sale of all of them, took the few that I wanted, and then managed to sell the rest for the same cost as the original purchase. Whilst I wouldn't necessarily do that again, at the time I had very little spare cash, so getting a few Robot Masters essentially for free was nice...

Yes, we all tried to convince ourself it was a good Optimus Prime.

I liked it at the time. I must prefer the spinning Classic Optimus from around that time though. Still have it!

Because he had a tommy gun, I always wanted that Optimus done up as white Ultra Magnus, with a fedora, and a real cloth trench coat, all as a nod to Robert Stack.
