From here. Hopefully this means Metrodome will have fuck all involvement with the TF series from here on in. One day, we might get a Series 1 without those dreadful enhanced audio tracks. Andy

We might also get a TF movie release that isn't full of crap special features and also a run of the Japanese TF cartoons with the English dub on all releases and the Zone episode on the Victory DVD boxset without having to pay extra for a compendium boxset.

I'm hoping it means someone will finish releasing GI Joe on DVD.

I'm surprised that no ones gone & release the G2 format cartoons to try to get more money in - instead they just redid the already released original format ones but with out the silver covers.

I'm not, the G2 cartoon was horrid. There was an inexplicable G2 dvd / video release a few years back, remember. I can't imagine it sold well at all.

And it looked fairly ropey too, the masters not having aged well. G2 is more of a curiosity. I can't see any market for more releases of it.

The only G2 cartoons I've seen are just the handful of episodes that were released on DVD a few years back. From what I saw of them I don't think I'll be too bothered if they don't release the full series on DVD.

The pilot was corrected in G2 format - remember the scene with Megatron shouting attack but showing Prime. G2 one put the scene Meg's on ship saying follow them into here to correct error.

In the pilot there's that scene - where they repeat the last scene of Optimus pointing - but it's Megatron you hear shouting attack. In the G2 edited one they put a window over the top showing Megatron from the chase scene so it fits with the audio. It should be on the G2 dvd/video release. They pause the animation so Megatron freeze while he's still talking seeing that they didn't have animated to fit the voice.

That was only really the main one i can remember - this being to get the pilot finished & reday to air & the crew working on the other 13 of series one.
Oh - there was the flicking in series 3 fight or flee where character mouths kept changing colours when Cyclonus & Scourge arrived.

Universal released the Beast Wars DVDs but I don't know if they still have the rights. AEC and, I believe, Animated are distributed by Entertainment Rights.

Didn't have any probs with playback when I had a telly. The rule re: DVD's players is, the cheaper they are the higher the odds they will be multi-region hackable. Most cheapo supermarket jobbies do it fine. Just google the model first for a hack to be sure.

Ah, now that's a thought. I recently replaced my expensive non-hackable Sony with a cheapo supermarket jobby.

Isn't there some signal problem even if you have a R1 player though? The only problem you have is the 'green screen' effect that happens when you plug an R1 DVD player into a TV that isn't NTSC compatible. Most TV's these days are though so that shouldn't be a problem.
